Prepare to get slaughtered…
Sony Pictures has registered for boarding school and shared the first ever trailer for Slaughterhouse Rulez, the Crispian Mills-directed coming-of-age horror comedy described by star Simon Pegg as a subterranean monster movie. Although we do see one of the film’s creatures, it’s comedy driven and looks like Harry Potter gone horror.
The film re-teams Pegg with frequent co-star Nick Frost!
In Slaughterhouse Rulez…
“Welcome to Slaughterhouse, an elite boarding school where boys and girls are groomed for power and greatness…and they’re about to meet their match. This ancient and ordered world is about to be shaken to its foundations – literally – when a controversial frack site on prized school woodland causes seismic tremors, a mysterious sinkhole, and an unspeakable horror to be unleashed. Soon a new pecking order will be established as the pupils and teachers alike become locked in a bloody battle for survival…“
Also starring are Asa Butterfield, Finn Cole, Hermione Corfield, and Michael Sheen.
The first trailer comes out of the UK and boasts a Halloween day release, although we’re still waiting on word from Sony Pictures U.S. as to their release strategy.
