The red band trailer for CBS Films’ Halloween horror flick Hell Fest is here and promises to pull no punches. Jam-packed with vulgarities and violence, the button at the end takes it all the way, sticking a needle right into someone’s eye!
The film by Blumhouse regular Gregory Plotkin, who directed Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and edited Get Out, feels perfectly timed as haunted attractions are all the rage. It’s also interestingly rooted in a true urban legend, which is also the inspiration behind Tobe Hooper’s The Funhouse and the creation of He-Man’s nemesis, Skeletor!
The trailer itself looks like a ton of fun and is reminiscent of some of our favorite 90s horror films – Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend – only it looks as vicious as Halloween. I’m ready to line up to be first into the park on September 28th…
The film is set at a horror theme park during Halloween where a night of fun turns deadly as a costumed killer begins slaying unsuspecting patrons who believe that it’s all part of the festivities.

“The Walking Dead’s” Gale Anne Hurd is producing via her company Valhalla Motion Pictures. It was previously reported that CBS Films president Terry Press is a longtime fan of the Hell Fest concept, believing it could spark a horror franchise.
