Next weekend, Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel, Green Inferno) takes a stab at kid-friendly horror with his PG-rated The House With a Clock in Its Walls, which Universal Pictures will release in IMAX’s alongside Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.
In the film, “The magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to live with his uncle (Jack Black) in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead.” Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett also stars.
We got our hands on four different clips from the film, many of which explain the rules, while one specifically points out that there are none. There are also two poop jokes, one in which a garden sculpture of a lion takes a dump in pond. There’s a lot of charm and fun banter in the footage, which looks like a great change of pace for Eli Roth. With that said, scares are promised.
