Star Aubrey Plaza shared a fun video from the set of the now-filming Child’s Play in which the crew plays a joke on the young cast, setting them up for a really good scare. While it’s being pegged as a prank, this would be a genius way to get an authentic reaction out of the cast if they were looking for one. Whatever this is, it’s fun.
Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”) will lead the remake’s cast, along with Gabriel Bateman (Lights Out) as our new Andy Barclay.
“Child’s Play follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.”
Early plot details referred to the new Chucky as a “robot doll,” reportedly a doll that gets hacked by a factory worker to remove its limitations and make it a killer.
Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2) wrote the script and Lars Klevberg is directing.
David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith (IT) are producing.
