Have you ever wondered just what goes in those energy drinks that keep us alert and ticking over during sluggish times? The trailer for new horror comedy Ravers, starring Georgia Hirst (“Vikings”), Danny Kirrane (Fubar), Maria Volk (Wolf Creek 2), Kamal Angelo Bolden (“Chicago Fire”), Manpreet Bambra (Wizards vs. Aliens) with Dave Johns (Two Graves) and Natasha Henstridge (Species), shows what happens after an accident at a bottling plant contaminates a batch of sleep busting beverages with murderous results.
“Ravers follows an illegal night-time rave, in a factory where contaminated energy drinks caused a worker to go fatally berserk, that turns into a nightmare. As a forgotten batch of the drink is found and consumed by drunken ravers, a truly terrifying physical transformation takes over and those unaffected try to escape in panic. Becky, a germophobic journalist, reluctantly there to cover the event, is trapped among the increasingly hostile crowd of dancers, and to save herself and her friends, she has to overcome her deepest phobias to help them get out alive.”
After screening at FrightFest in London, UK back in August the film travels to Dublin for the Irish Film Institute Horrorthon next week. Keep an eye out (literally in this case, thanks to the awesome practical effects by Dan Martin) for it on the genre film festival circuit.
