Back in June, Blue Underground announced that they were gearing up for a new Blu-ray release of William Lustig’s controversial ’80s slasher, Maniac. The release, hitting shelves on December 11th, promises to be the best presentation the film has ever seen thanks to a recent discovery of the original camera negative that has since been scanned in 4K.
The 3-disc set not only has a brand new transfer, but it will also be loaded with special features, many of which have never been seen before. And when these horrific memories begin to scream inside his mind, Frank prowls the seedy streets of New York City to stalk and slaughter innocent young women. Now Frank has begun a relationship with a beautiful photographer (Caroline Munro), yet his vile compulsions remain. These are the atrocities of a human monster.”
