[Video] Fan Edit Turns ‘The Christmas Chronicles’ into a Horror Film Directed By John Carpenter

Christmas may be over, but it’s never too late for a treat like this one.

By the very nature of Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles taking place in the Winter and starring Kurt Russell with a big beautiful beard, it didn’t take long for horror fans to start pretending the film was a sequel to John Carpenter’s The Thing, which resulted in lots of fun fan art.

Now, one fan has taken it upon himself to edit clips from The Christmas Chronicles together with clips from various horror movies (including the 2011 prequel to The Thing), turning Netflix’s holiday hit into a faux horror film titled Yuletide, directed by John Carpenter!

Creator P.L. Boucher explains the plot of this (sadly nonexistent) movie…

“When a primordial evil is released by a team of scientists digging in the North Pole on Christmas Eve, the residents of a small town rapidly become infected and transformed into nightmarish creatures. Their only hope is a mysterious man (Kurt Russell) held at the local police precinct who claims to be Santa Claus.”

This is so goddamn beautiful. Check out John Carpenter’s Yuletide below!

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
