‘The Devil Outside’ Hopes You Let Him In [Trailer]

Published

on

Opening in UK cinemas January 25th is Andrew Hulme’s (Snow in Paradise) coming-of-age dramatic horror The Devil Outside, which now has a trailer.

In the film…

“A teenage boy from a Born Again Christian family begins to question his faith when he finds a dead body in the woods. A coming of age film about religion, madness and repressed sexuality.

Robert is an innocent teenager, living a sheltered life in a Born Again Christian family with an insular world view dictated by his evangelizing Mother. He lives in a fantasy world that soon changes when he starts school. Exposed to science and secularism he starts to realize the world is not what he’d previously thought. When Marcus, a devilish newcomer at his church, then befriends him Robert finds himself being led down a much darker path.

Struggling with the fundamentals of his faith Robert discovers a dead body in the woods and believes he’s had a sign from God.”

Robert’s parents are played by Keeley Forsyth (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Alex Lowe (The Brothers Grimsby), and the film also features Mark Stobbart (“Skins”). Thanks to Fabien for sending.

Robert Eggers (The Witch, Nosferatu) is back later this year with new horror movie Werwulf, and the very first teaser image from the hotly anticipated movie has surfaced tonight.

Oddly enough, this first look comes courtesy of the NBC Store, and it gives us a glimpse at a chilly Winter landscape from the film. Is there a werewolf hiding in the photo? Maybe…

Set in 13th century England, Werwulf sees a mysterious creature stalk the land as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality. The film hits theaters on December 25 via Focus Features.

Robert Eggers recently teased, “It’s the darkest thing I’ve ever written. By far.”

Eggers directs from a script he penned with his The Northman co-writer Sjón.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nosferatu), Lily-Rose Depp (Nosferatu), Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), and Bodhi Rae Breathnach (Hamnet) star.

Robert Eggers and Sjón produce alongside Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title. Maiden Voyage’s Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus are executive producing.
