Director and producer James Wan (Aquaman, Saw, The Conjuring, Insidious, Dead Silence) is up to his old tricks with the Michael Chaves-directed The Curse of La Llorona, which is haunting theaters April 19, 2019.
This timeless Mexican legend comes to terrifying life with new footage of a family being haunted by the “Weeping Woman”. While the first trailer shared an entire sequence from the film, this new one is a full blown “proper” trailer filled with all of the fun gimmicks that make Wan’s movies so popular. There’s even a callback to a freaky shower sequence in one of the Grudge sequels where the Weeping Woman actually runs her hands through a young girl’s hair! Watch!
In 1970s Los Angeles, La Llorona is stalking the night—and the children…
“Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother suspected of child endangerment, a social worker and her own small kids are soon drawn into a frightening supernatural realm.”
Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen is the lead in the film, which also stars Roman Christou. Raymond Cruz of “Breaking Bad” fame will play Catholic priest turned shaman alongside a cast that also includes Linda Cardellini, Sean Patrick Thomas and Patricia Velasquez.
