Bloody Disgusting has exclusive first word and the trailer for Achoura, the latest genre film from Talal Selhami that will hold its World Premiere next Friday, April 12th at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival).
Also called “Children’s Night”, Achoura is a religious celebration. In Morocco, children splash water on each other and gather around a bonfire.
In the film, four kids have fun at frightening one another and decide to go explore a condemned – probably haunted – house. One of them disappears in mysterious circumstances. The three survivors try to forget, until Samir reappears 25 years later. The group will eventually have to confront the past.
Younes Bouab, Sofiia Manousha, Ivan Gonzalez, Moussa Maaskri, and Omar Lofti star.
The North African creature feature is a Moroccan/French co-production produced by Overlook Films, Moon & Deal Films and Orange Studio.
