The first trailer for the Tim Miller-directed Terminator: Dark Fate is here and it’s a welcomed return to form. Set to a somber rendition of Bjork’s “Hunter”, the trailer promises that the new sequel will once again be a “chase film”.
While pegged as a “teaser”, a lot is revealed in the first footage. We learn that Mackenzie Davis plays some sort of robot-human hybrid that’s been sent back to protect Natalia Reyes‘ character from Gabriel Luna‘s brand new machine, one that can split in two (it looks like a mix between Robert Patrick’s Terminator and that of Kristanna Loken in Rise of the Machines).
As we know, Dark Fate follows the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which means the return of Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor and Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator. Hamilton comes into frame like a supreme badass, almost as if the trauma she’s gone through turned her into a human machine. This sequel, produced and supported by franchise creator James Cameron, looks to have quite literally everything.
Paramount reveals the Dark Fate on November 1st, 2019.
