[Video] Someone Actually Went Ahead and Made a ‘Scary Terry’ Fan Film

He wasn’t the first to rip off Freddy Krueger’s gimmick – anyone remember Sharp Hand Joe? – but one of the most notable “bootleg Freddy” creations is no doubt Scary Terry from “Rick and Morty,” who appeared in the 2013 episode Lawnmower Dog. With miniature swords for fingers and a penchant for saying the word “bitch,” Scary Terry is, as the show describes, a “legally-safe knockoff of an ’80s horror character.” And he now has his own fan film.

Released today, Bitch: The Scary Terry Story is a short fan film from Chris Notarile, the man behind the Tales from Elm Street shorts and the recent Tiffany + Chucky fan films.

In the fan film…

“When Scary Terry finds himself on the wrong side of a trademark infringement lawsuit, options seem bleak as Scary Terry fights to justify his livelihood in the lawsuit of the century.”

Notarile honestly notes, “I wanted this to look as cheap as possible. The crappier, the better. Because again, the whole thing is just absurd.” Indeed it is. Watch the fan film below!

2007 FPS Horror Game ‘Dementium: The Ward’ Heads to PlayStation Today [Trailer]

In a blast from the past, developer atooi will release today Dementium: The Ward for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The first-person horror shooter originally got its start on the Nintendo DS back in 2007, before making its way to the 3DS in 2015, and finally landing on the Switch last October.

The PlayStation version of Dementium offers up “crunchy retro” and revamped HD display modes (presumably, this is similar to the free update the Switch version received last year), and has been “built from the ground up for the big screen”. Obviously, the game will lose its touchscreen capabilities from the Nintendo consoles, but will still run at a silky 60 frames per second.

Dementium: The Ward centres around William Redmoor, a man with amnesia, who wakes up in a seemingly abandoned medical ward. He soon finds out that he’s not quite as alone as he initially thought, as demonic creatures are roaming the hospital. Equipped with a flashlight and a nightstick, William must not only fend off the creatures, but also solve puzzles and find the exit and escape.

No word on if the sequel, Dementium II (which was also originally released in 2007 for the Nintendo DS), will be given the same treatment.
