Christmas-Themed ‘Creatures’ Features Practical Puppet Work from “Dark Crystal” Team [Trailer]
“If you loved the classics Night of the Creeps, Critters, Dead Heat, Ghoulies, They Live and Gremlins then you’re in for a real treat,” the makers of the upcoming horror film Creatures promised when the film was announced last year, and we’ve learned this week that production was able to wrap up before the pandemic hit. The official trailer has also been unleashed.
The action/sci-fi/horror-comedy comes from the director of Cute Little Buggers (Tony Jopia), the executive producer of The Hive (Romain Barbey), the creator of Good Tidings (Stu Jopia), and the puppet creation team behind “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance” (Stitches and Glue).
In the film…
“A group of astronomy students get more than they bargained for after finding an injured alien who is being targeted by a group of bloodthirsty alien creatures.”
The filmmaking team said in a statement, “Our passion lies in melding practical and visual FX. We aim to deliver on the goods by bringing together some creatively nasty SFX, tremendous puppet creature work and VFX work that will blow fans of action, horror comedies truly away.”
Jopia teases, “It’s going to be a non-stop action, sci-fi, horror comedy packed with badass nasty aliens and one adorable little bugger that YULE definitely want for Christmas.”
Creatures will have a festive theatrical and physical release Christmas 2020.

The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence will be released in select cities across the US beginning August 7th in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, and others, and expanding to further locations throughout the month.

The film features an ensemble cast led by franchise icon John Astin (The Addams Family), reprising his role as Professor Gangreen, comedy legend David Koechner (Anchorman), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), horror favorite Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), comedy veteran Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Vernée Watson (Shrinking, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Paul Bates (Coming to America).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
