Senscape’s long-awaited horror adventure game Asylum finally has a release date. The game, which has been in development since it was announced way back in 2010, will arrive on Steam and GOG.com on March 6, 2025. We’ve even got a new trailer, showcasing the game’s haunting atmosphere and twisted storyline.
A spiritual successor to the cult classic Scratches, Asylum is a first-person horror adventure crafted in the grindhouse style of 80s horror, drawing inspiration from H. P. Lovecraft’s stories, the iconic gothic style of Hammer Films, and the twisted horror legacy of Lucio Fulci.
Senscape is purposely keeping the story for Aslyum under wraps for now, but it’s set within the sprawling, decaying walls of the Hanwell Mental Institute. The game aims for a gripping journey filled with mystery, puzzles, and an ambiance that will keep players on edge throughout its 15 hours of gameplay. Asylum aims to be a slow-burning horror experience, designed to chill rather than shock, with only a few “carefully placed” scares.
“After years of work, I might finally take a vacation,” jokes Agustín Cordes, director of Asylum. Funded through a highly successful Kickstarter campaign and later supported by an Epic MegaGrant, Asylum has “continuously pushed the boundaries of horror storytelling and immersive gameplay.”
