Comic-Con, the world’s premier geek fest, is set to give us our annual dose of cosplay, comics, video games, and other assorted geekery later this month (July 21-24). Sadly, I won’t be there, but that doesn’t mean I won’t have a close eye on it, especially now that Capcom has unveiled a few exciting things that will be happening at the expo. The first is Resident Evil-related, and while I’m almost positive it won’t be the highly anticipated reveal of Resident Evil 6, it’s still bound to be something good. The series turned 15 this year and they’ve even gone so far as to dub Friday the 22nd “Resident Evil Day,” so the surprises have to be good, right?

Capcom also has a new game they’ll be unveiling at Comic-Con, and I think I know what it is. Earlier this month a rumor sprang up from a Spanish retail listing of a Devil May Cry HD collection that listed the first three Devil May Cry games, remastered in a neat little bundle. Capcom’s already re-releasing Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica X in the Revival Selection later this year, so it’s not a stretch to expect they’ll give similar treatment to Devil May Cry. But that’s not even everything, head past the break for some more, just make sure you have a trash bag handy for when you mind gets fucking blown. Did I oversell it a little bit? Capcom is also taking submissions for Devil May Cry fan art to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary. The exciting thing about this is the artwork that gets submitted, excluding the abundance of penis drawings Capcom will likely be forced to sift through, will be included in an unannounced game. I’m think this game is the same title they’re about to reveal at Comic-Con, and what better game of theirs to include Devil May Cry fan art in than HD versions of the first three games?

Capcom’s other games will also be at the event, including their open-world RPG Dragon’s Dogma, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter (they’ve dubbed the 21st “Street Fighter day”), and new trailers and gameplay for all their upcoming games. Resident Evil will be there en masse, including Revelations, Operation Raccoon City, and Mercenaries 3D.

I suggest following my every move next week because there’s going to be a lot of Resident Evil and hopefully some Devil May Cry news coming out of Comic-Con this year.
