Tobin Bell Confirms ‘Saw 8’ Rumors, Doesn’t Dismiss 9th Film!

Back in 2004 Bloody-Disgusting was the first website to get behind Saw and really give it a push, who knew that five years later we’d not only be reporting on the possibilities of an eighth film, but also a ninth? It’s still crazy to me that this October we’ll be seeing a sixth film in the Jigsaw franchise created by Australian horror fans James Wan and Leigh Whannell, along with the vidgame accompanying it. Earlier today B-D caught up with Mr. Tobin Bell (that’s Jigsaw to you), who confirms to B-D that the plan is the end the franchise with an eighth film, but who knows?
Tobin Bell as Jigsaw in SAWBloody-Disgusting spoke exclusively with SAW star Tobin Bell at the E3 convention in Los Angeles today just after the announcement that the actor will be lending his familiar voice to Jigsaw for the SAW video game. During our chat about the game, we also asked the actor if he’d heard the rumor that the 8th film would bring an end to the SAW franchise once and for all.

Yes, I have,” Bell told Bloody-Disgusting. “Final is a relative word. Especially in entertainment.

Just to clarify, we asked Bell if the eighth film was being conceived as the final chapter. “Yeah,” Bell said with a pause before adding, “I look forward to filling out the other pieces of the puzzle. There’s some pieces that people still haven’t seen.

Although parts seven and eight are almost definite, Bell warns that nothing is ever set in stone until they see how the latest entry does at the box office. “In their wisdom, these producers always wait to see how the current film does. Six is finished and we’re just in the middle of talking about [seven].

You always want to just keep the bar up,” adds Bell. “If there’s more good story to tell, it’s good to have more opportunities to tell it.

What do you guys think? When should this franchise end?
