Dimension Films Acquires H.P. Lovecraftian ‘The Home’!
/Film reports some exciting news as they’re claiming Dimension Films is finally doing something “original” as they’ve acquired Kristoffer Aaron Morgan’s H.P. Lovecraftian horror The Home, a film we’ve been covering here on Bloody Disgusting since early stages of development. Dimension Films’ revival is shrouded in remakes and sequels as they’re working on a redos of Hellraiser, Scanners and Scary Movie, along with sequels to Scream, Piranha and Halloween. It’s exciting and refreshing to see the studio get behind something sharply original, no? Read on for some early concept art and previously released details.
As we previously reported, The Home stars Brian Cox (The Ring, Trick ‘r Treat), Cloris Leachman (Young Frankenstein), Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), Louis Gossett Jr. (The Invaders, Jaws 3D), Ed Asner (Up, The Mod Squad), and Fionnula Flanagan (“Lost,” The Others).
Penned by Morgan alongside Eric Vespe (Quint from Ain’t It Cool News), The Home unfolds after a young man is nearly killed during a horrible accident that leaves him physically and emotionally scarred. To recuperate, he is taken to a secluded nursing home where the elderly residents appear to be suffering from delusions. But after witnessing a violent attack, he soon realizes that the screams behind the walls are caused by more than hallucinations, and the residents are being preyed upon by twisted, monstrous nightmares that lurk within the home itself.
Elizabeth Avellan (Sin City, Grindhouse, Predators, Machete) produces, Elijah Wood co-produces, and the legendary KNB Effects company is providing the practical and creature effects.
The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence will be released in select cities across the US beginning August 7th in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, and others, and expanding to further locations throughout the month.

But when the experiment spirals out of control, it unleashes a new generation of killer tomatoes, setting the stage for another outrageous chapter in the long-running cult franchise.
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes co-creators Costa Dillon and J. Stephen Peace return to write and executive produce. David Ferino directs.
The film features an ensemble cast led by franchise icon John Astin (The Addams Family), reprising his role as Professor Gangreen, comedy legend David Koechner (Anchorman), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), horror favorite Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), comedy veteran Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Vernée Watson (Shrinking, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Paul Bates (Coming to America).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
