TV: Comedy Director Transforms Into ‘Grimm’
Last week we reported that NBC picked up a pilot mixing fantasy with a crime drama, giving the green to “Grimm,” described as a “dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist.” The only other details were that it was he project is from Jim Kouf (“Angel”) and David Greenwalt (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), with executive producers Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner.
We did a little digging because we were curious on the “tone” of the new series, and think we now have an answer. Bloody Disgusting exclusively learned that Marc Buckland will be directing the pilot episode that begins lensing this March in Portland. Bucland has directed episodes of various sitcoms from “Scrubs” to “Better Off Ted,” “My Name is Earl” (which he won an Emy for), and “Ed”. I guess it’s a safe bet that this will be a comedy series.
The story follows a police officer who begins to have visions of normal people as monsters. He learns he’ a “Grimm” and has special powers where he can see what people truly are. Think They Live without the glasses, with the addition of varied creatures.
We’ll keep you posted on casting as soon as it’s revealed.

Something is Killing the Children was first published by BOOM! Studios in 2019 and tells the story of Erica Slaughter, a monster hunter from a mysterious organization more concerned with keeping the secret of monsters from the world than saving their victims.
In this world, only children can see monsters.
