‘Madison County’ Director Gets Trapped ‘Roadside’

Published

While still in post on his slasher Madison County (read our exclusive set report), writer-director Eric England is already gearing up for his third horror effort, Roadside, which begins lensing this April in Virginia.

Thankfully, the buzz surrounding ‘Madison County’ has opened a lot of doors,” England writes into Bloody Disgusting. “My producers and I have been approached by several people about what we’re doing next and thankfully we’ve been green-lit for the next film! It’s a Hitchockian-thriller entitled, ‘Roadside’.

The film is a high concept thriller that finds Dan Summers and his pregnant wife, Mindy, in a fight for their lives when they are held hostage in their car by an unseen gunman on the side of a desolate mountain road.

I’m a huge fan of single setting films – like Adam Green’s ‘Frozen’ – that take a seemingly normal situation and turn it on it’s head. I love the challenge of keeping the story in basically one location and finding ways to keep the characters interesting and the stakes high. The suspense and the tension of ‘Roadside’ should make for one exciting ride!

Of course Bloody Disgusting will keep you informed throughout production. I’m excited to see what this young filmmaker delivers over the next few years.
