‘The Hike’ Begins This October from Lionsgate UK

In UK retailers on October 19 from Lionsgate UK, Rupert Bryan’s The Hike is described as a relentless, traumatic feature length horror film set in the British countryside about a girls camping trip that goes terribly wrong.
The pic features a pretty awesome cast including Tamar Hassan (Kick Ass), Barbara Nedeljakova (Hostel), Ben Loyd Holmes (Torchwood), Shauna Macdonald (The Descent), Zara Phythian, Daniel Caren, Jemma Bolt, Domonic Le Moignan, Stephanie Siadatan, Lisa Marie Long, Adam Young and Joe Nuttal.

“Kate (Zara Phythian) is back from a tour of duty in Afghanistan after seeing her soldier boyfriend die in combat. She has reunited with her best friends back home, who whisk her away on a `healing’ camping trip to a picturesque and remote area of the British countryside.
The girls make their way into the woods in search of the perfect place to camp, to forget their sorrows, and enjoy their time together. On their hike, they come across a mysterious group of Eastern Europeans, who seem to be living off the land. They quickly move on to avoid an awkward confrontation and continue to their destination.
When they reach Sunset Point, they meet a group of rock climbers and form a quick and flirtatious friendship. But when darkness falls, and one of their friends goes missing, the girls will be forced to rely on each other, and the rock climbers to find their friend and get out of the woods in one piece. ”

Brazilian Werewolf Fable ‘Good Manners’ Finally Gets Physical Media Release
One of contemporary horror’s best werewolf movies is 2017’s Good Manners, and it’s finally set to receive a proper physical media release.
Icarus Films is partnering with OCN Distribution to unleash a new Blu-ray that’s now available to preorder via Vinegar Syndrome. and with a limited edition slipcover.
Set in São Paulo, the film follows Clara, a lonely nurse from the outskirts of the city who is hired by mysterious and wealthy Ana to be the nanny of her soon to be born child. Against all odds, the two women develop a strong bond. But a fateful night marked by a full moon changes their plans.
Good Manners is the second collaboration between filmmakers Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra, who write and direct. Zama’s Rui Poças‘ cinematography captures this unique werewolf tale described as “Disney meets Jacques Tourneur.”
Our own Trace Thurman wrote in his review, “With Good Manners, Rojas and Dutro have made one of the best werewolf movies ever made. That they are able juggle commentaries on racism and classism while still managing to tell two deeply affecting love stories is remarkable.”
