[Random Cool] ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Recut As ‘Stepfather’-esque Horror Pic
Recutting movie trailers into opposing genres is nothing new. It became an internet phenomenon when Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining was transformed into a drama, and was taken to new levels when Mary Poppins became a horror film.
Next up, Chris Columbus’ 1993 comedy Mrs. Doubtfire, where Peter Javidpour’s has recut the trailer that re-envisions the Robin Williams starrer as a horror film in the vein of The Stepfather. His synopsis? “An unemployed actor undergoes a drastic transformation in a twisted attempt to regain the trust of his estranged family.”
A little bonus has also been added inside, JFF. The below television commercial for Wolfman Computers channels “Tim & Eric.” Howl if you’d buy anything from this guy.

Adam Wingard’s ‘Onslaught’ Receives ‘R’ Rating for Strong Bloody Violence and Sexual Material
Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) is getting back to his roots with the A24 movie Onslaught, and the film has received an ‘R’ rating from the MPA this week.
Releasing in theaters on September 4, Adam Wingard’s Onslaught is Rated ‘R’ for “Strong bloody violence, some gore, sexual material/nudity, and language.”
Watch the previously released Onslaught trailer below.
The duo behind The Guest, director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, are re-teaming for the upcoming Onslaught, which stars Adria Arjona in the leading role.
Here’s the synopsis: “When a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert, a badass Army sniper must unleash hell to protect her young daughter.”
Rebecca Hall (The Night House, Godzilla x Kong) and Dan Stevens (The Guest) also star in Adam Wingard’s upcoming new movie Onslaught alongside Michael Biehn, Reginald VelJohnson, Eric Wareheim, Drew Starkey, and Alex “Poatan” Pereira.
Wingard has spent the past several years making Hollywood blockbusters including Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and the idea behind Onslaught is to get back to his filmmaking roots. Onslaught looks very much in line with Wingard’s fan favorite The Guest, so much so that fans have been speculating that it’s set in the very same universe.
Dan Stevens starred alongside Maika Monroe in 2014 action-thriller The Guest. He played a mysterious ex-soldier with a secret agenda who wreaks havoc on a small town.
At the very least, The Guest and Onslaught look to be cut from the same cloth.
And yes, Dan Stevens is in both of them!
