This Is Why You Should Be Excited About ZombiU
One of the more exciting announcements to come out of E3 last week was the post-apocalyptic survival horror game ZombiU. It stands out because it’s a new horror IP and in a sea of sequels that alone makes it pretty damn exciting. It’s also doing some incredibly cool things. Head past the break to get caught up on some of the more innovative features this game is bringing with it.
For starters, the game utilizes the Wii U’s GamePad controller–for the unfamiliar, that’s the big controller with the screen on it. This means when you need to check your inventory you’ll have to actually turn away from the horrors on your TV to look at the GamePad’s screen that will display the contents of your bag. That ought to make for some intensely terrifying moments in-game.
The controller’s being used for a variety of other ways, like the competitive multiplayer that will have one player playing the game in the first person, as you would do if you were playing the game alone. The second player will use the GamePad’s screen to see the world from a top-down perspective where they’ll be able to spawn enemies to kill their opponent.
Another incredibly cool thing about ZombiU is every time you die you respawn as a different character. You’ll then be tasked with finding the spot where you died and killing the recently reanimated character you were previously controlling to get the supplies you collected before you died. This goes a step further, as when your friends die in their games they spawn in yours as the hungry undead.
What’s potentially the most exciting thing about this game for those of you who aren’t terribly interested in the Wii U is the fact that this isn’t necessarily exclusive to Nintendo’s console. That’s where it’s coming first, but it could potentially come to the other consoles sometime thereafter.

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Brings ‘Fortnite’ to Life with New ‘Fortnitemares’ Scare Zone
Epic’s Fortnite is heading for another crossover, this time with Universal Orlando and Halloween Horror Nights. The title’s annual Fortnitemares Halloween event will be coming to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort in a new scare zone, kicking off on August 28.
For those not in the know, Scare zones are themed, open-air areas where guests and actors roam around freely.
This is the first time Fortnite will be featured during the after-hours event, which will run from August 28 until November 1. Tickets and packages are on sale now at the official site.
Per the press release, guests will enter Freaky Fields, a Halloween-inspired living battleground that’s been “overcome with a threatening force.” From there, fans will meet up with the Battle Bus, featuring familiar Fortnitemares characters, including “a few new additions exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights.”
And of course, there will be Fortnitemares merchandise available for fans, including a graphic t-shirt, decal set, and an acrylic collectible piece.
Fortnitemares won’t be the only featured property at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Killer Klowns from Outer Space will also be getting its own scare zone. Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, and Evil Dead Burn will also be part of the event, though they will be relegated to their own specific houses.
And while it’s early yet, gamers can probably expect Fortnitemares to return to Fortnite this October.
