Garth Ennis’ highly popular Dynamite title, The Boys, is coming to an end this November with issue #72. Thankfully, this is not a cancellation. The termination was planned by Ennis from the get-go. The issue will tie up loose ends, and offer one last adventure for The Boys in order to bring the six-year run to a satisfying close.

It was also reported by Bleeding Cool that “The Boys” movie adaptation is still in the works, with Adam McKay on board to direct, and a possible Simon Pegg as Wee Hughie. We may just have more of “The Boys” in the coming years. See the press release, the cover art, and quotes from Ennis below.

August 16, 2012, Mt. Laurel, NJ – It’s an end of an era this coming November, as The Boys conclude their historic run with issue #72! The Boys has been one of the most critically acclaimed books on the shelves, but writer Garth Ennis always intended for the series to be finite and issue #72 is his final statement on The Boys!
