TV: Chiller Comes To Their “Sense”, Casts Up “Monkey’s Paw”
Chiller, the cable network dedicated to horror programming, has discovered the Monkey’s Paw, and is exploring the human senses.
THR writes that “Terra Nova” alum Stephen Lang and “High School Musical” vet Corbin Bleu (Nurse 3D, Scary or Die) lead the cast of Chiller’s original movie “The Monkey’s Paw,” adapted by Macon Blair from a short story by W.W. Jacobs. We first broke the news here with a detailed plot synopsis.
“The film centers on Jake Tilton (C.J. Thomason), who acquires a mystical “monkey’s paw” talisman that grants its possessor three wishes and finds his world upside down after his first two wishes result in his co-worker Tony Cobb (Lang) being resurrected from the dead. When Cobb pressures Jake into using hte final wish to reunite Cobb with his son, his intimidation quickly escalates intoo relentless murder — forcing Jake to outwit his psychotic friend and save his remaining loved ones.” Michelle Pierce, Tauvia Dawn, and Charles S. Dutton also star.
“The Monkey’s Paw,” produced by Ross Otterman for TMP Films and directed by Brett Simmons (Husk), will premiere on Chiller in 2013.
Additionally, Chiller has teamed with six filmmakers to make five shorts for its first anthology film about the human sesnses, “Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear,” being eyed for a 2013 launch. YellowBrickRoad‘s Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton will take on Hearing, Emily Hagins (My Sucky Teenage Romance ) with Touch, Eric England (Madison County) with Taste, Nick Everhart (Slash-in-the-Box) with Smell and Miko Hughes with Sight.
The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence will be released in select cities across the US beginning August 7th in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, and others, and expanding to further locations throughout the month.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes co-creators Costa Dillon and J. Stephen Peace return to write and executive produce. David Ferino directs.
The film features an ensemble cast led by franchise icon John Astin (The Addams Family), reprising his role as Professor Gangreen, comedy legend David Koechner (Anchorman), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), horror favorite Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), comedy veteran Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Vernée Watson (Shrinking, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Paul Bates (Coming to America).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
