Potential ‘Godzilla’ Lead Has Us Stomping In Excitement!
Last night I watched Nowhere Boy (it’s on Netfix), a biopic about John Lennon’s childhood that blew my mind. The film was carried on the shoulders of Aaron Johnson (aka Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who you may know as Dave Lizewski in Lionsgate’s Kick-Ass. Frankly, it was one of the best performances of the year, and put Johnson in my personal list of favorite actors.
Warner Bros. apparently feels the same way as they’ve put him atop the shortlist of actors being pursued for Legendary Pictures’ newest Godzilla, says Deadline. Other actors that are being considered for the project include Gordon-Levitt, Henry Cavill, Scoot McNairy (Argo), and Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men: First Class), the latter of which is my personal fav from this group.
While he is the current frontrunner, he’s said make a final decision on whether or not to take the offer after he sees the final polish that Frank Darabont is writing based on the Max Borenstein script.
Even with the legal mumbo jumbo, the film is still on course to begin production in March, with the film dated for a May 16, 2014 release.

Jennifer Kluska and Alan Hawkins are directing The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania.
