[Premiere] Stream/Free Download WVM’s “When Universes Collide (Feat. Josh Freese)”

Published

on

Electronic rock artist WVM has released a 5-track EP entitled The End Is Only The Beginning, which features Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails, American McGee’s Alice) and Josh Freese (Queens Of The Stone Age, A Perfect Circle). Mixing of the EP was done by Sean Beavan (8MM, Marilyn Manson), who called the album an, “…electronic masterpiece.” You can snag the EP on iTunes. A full LP version of the album will be released on June 7th and can be pre-ordered here.

Sean Beavan also says “WVM has all the warm, yummy, electronic goodness of vintage Gary Numan, with instant melodic hookery and a real artist’s vision; unique, original, and accessible.

Bloody-Disgusting is offering a limited stream/download of the track “When Universes Collide”, which features drummer Josh Freese. You can listen to the song below and we’re offering the track for you to download for the next 48 hours, so make sure to get it while you can!

WVM comments, “It’s amazing how perfectly Josh played what I wrote out for him to play. This record has a balance of real drums and drum machine but also in songs like “Escapism” I added drum machine parts that work in a symbiotic manner to what Josh played. The first half of “The End Is Only the Beginning” includes the songs “When Universes Collide” featuring Josh Freese (NIN, A Perfect Circle) and “Black Sun” featuring Chris Vrenna (NIN, Marilyn Manson) which are definitely more on the melodic side with dark overtones but there is still a sense of hope, this sense of hope is quickly overshadowed by the second half which has mostly drum machine as the record begins to descend to a much darker place and includes a song where Josh Freese and Chris Vrenna are playing drums within the same song called “i”. The title “The End Is Only the Beginning” comes from the fact that the end of this record in full release is the beginning of the record that will come after it, which is much darker and electronic in nature. I want to balance everything between man and machine, between light and dark.
