Very sad news as it’s been announced that British comic book artist Steve Dillon has passed away in New York City, according to a tweet from his brother. No reason for his passing was given, the tweet simply stating that he, “…passed away in the city he loved (NYC).”
Dillon was the cofounder of Deadline Magazine, although he’s most recognized for co-creating the comic book series “Preacher“, which was turned into a TV series on AMC by Seth Rogen. The story follows a young preacher who becomes possessed by a supernatural creature. He then traverses the US in search of God (literally) while forces attempt to impede his path.
AMC’s show premiered earlier this year and ran 10 episodes. A second season was confirmed for 2017 and will bring an additional 13 episodes.
Dillon also worked on “Hellblazer”, “Judge Dredd”, and “The Punisher”, as well as a great many other titles.
