I personally did not care for this film. It was just goofy. It was not a good creature film and for some odd reason i felt that it was like watching tremors just with a different creature. Same feel to the film.
A Decent film. It has a lot of potential and funny as hell at times.
This Is one of my favorite creature features. Sure, it was completely ridiculous and out-landish, but it was so much fun. They made it a little bit comic at times, but that is not able to cancel out the ridiculous amount of gore in it. Even though it was both gorey and a little funny, it was still pretty good, and is worth seeing, considering it is pretty much the only Project Greenlight film to have hit theaters.
very intense and crazy. loved it. =)
this film had alot. funny, gore and blood, and henry rollins. very entertaining.
I was lucky to come across a copy of this Gem of a horror movie last October. This is a film thats hard to fault, and I understand there are 2 sequals in the wings. Matt & Ben’s old Chum Jason Mews(Jay of jay&silent bob fame), also has a cameo roll in what is destined to be a horror classic, YOU GOTTA SEE THIS.
Great movie for anybody who’s in the mood for something kickass that they can have fun with. It’s covered in satire and gore, plus the mosters are some of the coolest things I’ve seen in a movie. I loved it!
Very entertaining.
This is the first time a movie has actually made me nauseous, I seriously thought I was going to puke a few times, it was great.
If you have an open mind about quirky horror comedies (Evil Dead, Slither, Bad Taste) you’ll love this one.
Funny, Gore and FUN….Good movie
Really good. Simple, yet elegantly constructed. Very fast paced. The gore and action scenec pull no punches and really are almost back to back seperated by some good comedy. Beer guy’s Theory of what is happening is a movie highlight. (“I think were gonna be okay, guys. Yeah, I think were gonna be alright. You know, this is just some leaky barrel, radiation, toxic dump waste, enviro-crap, freak-beast accident that crawled out of the sewer, man. That’s all this is.”)
From start to finish, this movie was a cartoon. It was like watching an episode of “Courage the Cowardly Dog” or the Halloween episodes of all the other Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon regulars. But it was live action, without toning down any of the gory moments for children, and that made it amazing!
This is a sad day in all movie genres. Originality is dead. People hail movies like The Descent and The Mist, ignoring the fact 95% of the movies could have been copy/pasted from the last monster movie that held its run. The fact that this movie takes those retarded clichés and actually laughs in their face, I can’t help but enjoy it. People sit around and say, “Oh, it’s not original, but what is anymore?” instead of taking a risk and making something that IS original. This is the exact reason I would go for a video game over a movie–games like No More Heroes, Killer 7, and MadWorld *are* taking chances and making original entertainment, while movies aren’t. And won’t.
Feast isn’t original, but it challenges moviemakers to be original by making fun of them. Contrary to the countless “gory” movies like 30 Days of Night, the makers of Feast honestly have balls because they do what the others don’t: be different.
That’s not saying this movie is gory; it really isn’t. It’s pretty genetic and family friendly. I’d be hard-pressed to say the gore in this movie is much more over-the-top than the new Indiana Jones movie. Simply put, the gore is more than most movies, but it’s so generic it really isn’t that gory.
That’s the only complaint I have. The rest is cartoony, arthouse fun.
Great and entertaining flick.Loved it! Blood & guts and some great comical scenes.I liked them weird lookin monsters too, real bad-asses.Cant wait for the sequel.
Found this Gem Today at Wally World $5.00! What a Great Surprise Scary and Funny! Great Monsters Great Acting! Very Good Movie!
I watched this movie with great expectations. I was wondering what would happen when Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Wes Craven produce a horror movie. But in the end, I wasn’t that amazed as I thought I would. The plot is actually very funny, but you barely see a single fighting scene because of the unsteady camera movement (like Cloverfield). They had one or two funny jokes, but summarized…after an hour you have enough of it.
This movie is very overrated. You don’t see the monsters very much and the acting pretty much sucks, as does the story. The only funny part is when a monster’s dick gets chopped off and stomped on. I had higher expectations.
didnt like it to much
Good, funny, entertaining, movie with great characters. Too bad 2 wasn’t as good.
i pretty much rented this one because of the whole project greenlight thing that i heard about it and that wes craven was part of producing it. about a week after i rented and watched the movie i went out and bought it. it was amazing!!! i’d have to say, though, it’s not for everyone. ive heard a lot of bad reviews because it was scary enough. i really dont think that this movie is entirely meant for horror, it’s meant to be an awesome amazing splatter-gore film with comedic events and horror sometimes. just get past the fact that its not entirely horror before watching it and you should appreciate it. it was bomb!
For a horror/comedy, id rank this right up there with slither and shaun of the dead. if you get the unrated version, the gore is a little better and the story is comical as all hell. granted you dont see the monsters as much as you would expect, it still presents an atmosphere where you will feel that nobody is safe. the deaths are rather unexpected at times and they stray away from most cliche horror movie nonsense, so its definetly worth checking out if you dig the horror/comedy genre. well worht the 5 bucks you can get the unrated version for at wal-mart these days.
I thought this movie was going to suck. I ended up thinking how great the movie was, it truly is a great horror/comedy gore movie.
AWSOME!
This movie is a great horror/comedy. Tons of gore and laughs. And great creatures.
Awesome movie! Tons of fun and gore to be seen here! I highly recommend it if you are looking for a good splatter comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
This movie is a B-movie version of Tremors mixed with From Dusk till dawn. So much blood and guts, funny, it will entertain the fuck out of you.
WOW! this movie was fucking great! I saw sloppy seconds last night and feast tonight and holy fuck this one blows the second one away. They reallly dropped the ball on sloppy seconds. Feast was sweet; way bloodier and much better pacing.
A good fun movie
I’m completely saddened and utterly disappointed in the reviews for this “horror” movie. Have you people no taste, standards, or pride in movies? It’s disgusting for what passes as a good horror movie these days.
Even the “it’s so bad it’s good” tag doesn’t even apply here. The acting was god awful, the cinematography was amateur(at best), and the dialog was atrocious. Not to mention the story was terribly mediocre and unimaginative.
FUCK! REALLY? Three and a half to four skulls? How does this site have ANY credibility? This is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen in my life and I feel sorry anyone that enjoyed it even a little bit. I mean the faux Guy Richie freeze frames complete with Name, Occupation, and Life Expectancy on it? You know why those shots work for Snatch? BECAUSE IT’S A FAST PACED FILM WITH GOOD DIALOG AND MORE OF A PLOT. Not just hicks sitting around in a bar with there thumbs up there asses because there’s monsters fucking outside.
Please, people develop some taste. That goes double for Mr. Disgusting. Get a fucking grip!
THIS MOVIE WAS EPIC!! It started with bang and does not let up at any point. Fun to watch and completely entertaining. All around, this is just an awesome film. Great gore, great monsters, and great comedy. It brings the suspense and gives the moments that make you cover your mouth in shock. Any die-hard horror fan would be lucky to see such an amazing film. There was a little bit of cheesy acting (Coach), but that does not tarnish this film’s awesomeness. Overall, this movie is pretty flawless and a definite must see. LET THE BLOOD FLOW!!
I LOVED this movie! Awesome for a first time screen writer!
This movie was a lot of fun to watch. I only wish they would have shown the creatures more. I recommend this movie to any horror fan.
This movie was sick. I bought it for $5.99, so I couldn’t really go wrong at that price. My only complaint was at the beginning where the beast ate the boy as well as when the beast cut the chick’s leg off. The camera was way too fast during this scene and you really had to rewind and set the dvd player to slow motion to fully grasp what had just happened. I really have no idea why they sped up some of the kill scenes. This movie would have been flawless if the kill scenes were slowed down. But even with that complaint, this movie still killed.
Great movie. One of my all time favorites.
awsome movie that pulls no punches, bloody and fun…i like all the charecters to.
awesome movie pulls no punches it is what it is, its over the top, blood soaked and just tonnes of fun, destined to be a cult classic simply brilliant cant remember last time i had so much fun watching a horror movie
Gorey, funny and cheaply made. What else could you ask for? Too bad the sequels suck so much.
I rented this based on other web reviews and since taste in film is subjective I wasn’t really expecting too much…but WOW!! The last time I had really gotten into a horror flick this much fun was my initial viewing of EVIL DEAD II. A good original beginning, followed by strong characterization, and bucketfuls of gore make this a fun party movie. I went out and added this to my collection the following day.
Henry Rollins in pink sweatpants.
This movie was hilarious and outrageous. Those monsters were so well-made too!
This movie was funny but weird
it was good, funny and gory, always good together specialy with a monster baby skull fu*ckin scene
Kick Ass!
Tremmors with gore
This film is a compilation of gorse cliches and piss poor acting. This film was just a complete and utter embarrassment, with a horrible plot line, poor special effects and bleak script. What made the movie so much worse was how disgusting it was. The film is just gross for the sake of it and shows no purpose or reason for it.
All in all don’t pay for it watch it just to see how bad it can get out there. If your picky and want to be intellectually stimulated don’t watch this.
I loved this movie. The way they set up the characters. I thought it was funny when the hero got his head chopped off. When I first saw this movie I never saw a kid get killed in a movie right off the bat and I thought that was great. The monsters looked pretty sweet and the acting was very good. One of the main things I like was all the blood. You don’t really see that anymore.
now this movie’s outline was interesting becuase it shows almost nothing of anybody’s names, backgrounds, or where all the monsters came from. its no suprise that henry rollins plays a minor role in this film.
Sure to be a cult clasic!!!!
I watched this movie and enjoyed it emensliy! The way you never knew the charecter’s names, how evrything that should happen dosen’t, and the fact that you never knew anything about what these things are or where they came from!
Fun fact! When the guy fell down the staris, that wasn’t supposed to be in ther, but because he stayed in charecter, they put it in anyway!
Very enjoyable! Not your avrage horror flick!
This was a classic, blood and gore, comedy, great killings, great lines, funny characters, and I totally loved the creatures, this was fun to watch and was really twisted…although sadly enough, feast 2 and 3 were pure garbage, this was awesome!!!
8 out 10

8 out 10
Wasn’t really feeling this one.
I am really surprised they made not only one, but two sequels.
I will say that it was fairly unpredictable – as far as who gets killed off and what not… Not completely, but fairly unpredictable.
Really good monster movie. They played on all the cliches of whose going to live and die great. Fast paced, lots of blood, good amount of humor.
Looses a point though for the cinematography, sometimes the camera shook way too much and it was a little hard to see what was going on.
Damn drunken granny!
A hilarious fun time.
better than i expected
Great fun movie in the spirit of Evil Dead 2, expect the unexpected because that’s what this franchise is all about. Enjoy it, hope so cause there’s sequels!
what the fuck was that ?? that was awesame!!!
Fresh Horror . no rules . just blood
I love Feast. It’s classic horror on a high scale. The overall feel just does it for me, it actually looks like a good film. The great picture qaulity, and the great sound track, with rather good acting makes Feast a great horror, gore fest. This movie is actually fun to watch, and has you in full excitment phase all the way through. The ugly creature, the horrible gore fest of a movie, the great horror aspects overall makes Feast a one to watch! The only thing that dissapointed me, is the script is a little chessey at times, but the overall movie is a blast!
9/10
I had been missing gore movies. FEAST has refilled my lust for these kind of movie.
Before watching it, bring all you might need :
food, beverage, a bucket ( to pucke), someone (to grab onto) and capacity to laugh right after being scared and nearly throwin’ up.
I loved the characters in this movie. Almost every horror movie cliche was used when they drew up the characters for this movie and it really worked. I’ll have to pick up the sequel sometime.
I absolutely loved this movie. Me and my friends are major horror critics and this is our instant favorite. The perfect amount of gore and blood with great acting. The story was a little sketchy but how it seems to play out great and entertaining was perfect for us. With just the right amount of comedy embedded with this horror film.
We also enjoyed how the movie didnt start off with a drag and jumped into the action not even 15 minutes into the movie. It really keeps you glued to your seat and waiting to see what happens next and how the rest of the story unravels. My favorite by far. Something to watch with your buddies on a friday night. I completely reccomend it if you can stomach it!
Creatures humping deer heads. Good times. Enjoyed this movie. Gory, quirky , fun and i loved the random unexpected deaths and the whole life expectancy shtick. Original. Recommend.
I don’t understand why so many people give this good ratings, this movie is terrible.
Why? It’s a cheesy schlockfest of bad comedy and overacting, with no flair or style whatsoever.
Was I the only who noticed that Harley mom chacacter got her face humped by that monster child and got a facial before she died because that was pretty cool but very cheesy movie
This is a great movie. It is a ton of fun to watch highly recommended
was this spost to be funny? It didnt matter it was pretty good
This movie only tormented me from beginning to end! Good effects, but I hated entirely ALL the characters! I would have been satisfied had all of them been killed, seriously. They got along worse than characters in the Romero “Dead” movies, which at least had a good meaning in portraying how ppl in real-life just can’t work together. Still…now I feel I HAVE to watch the 2 sequels. Oh, the lowely life of a horror fan! Cheers ALL!!
Great gore and humor
This movie was awful. The characters were unlikeable. The screnplay was shitty and the creatures would be cool if you ever get to see them. Everything happens so fast that when they do show the creatures, everything is sped up. The effects were good and a few humourous moments but All in All, Feast is a terrible movie that needs to be skipped.
A fun little creature feature, and easily the best of the three Project Greenlight movies. Just some low-budget shlock, and all the better for it. Goes great with a pizza, some beers n’ good buds.
The “earthquake-on-speed” cam action on most of the actual creature scenes is very annoying as well as some of the people in it at times, but overall this is a fairly ok film to watch. The sex-crazed monster antics as well as the deterioration of the annoying 30-Rock guy has some chuckle moments. Worth a view, but nothing special.
Not to bad, just wish I got to see the monsters/creatures alot more. Really never got to see what they looked like, except some really quick flashes or peeks through the walls and windows. Other than that it was kind of entertaining and funny.
This was fun overload! Too bad I can’t say that about the terrible sequels but man this one was awesome and so original in every way they did it! I especially love the beginning how they give everyones profile.Just incredible all the way around!
FUN
Surely a fun film to watch. Story, acting, locale, music, score and everything else was very low grade, though. A gore-fest feast for the eyes and a great film to watch with friends while having a night in. A poor film that had near to nothing going for it, that is except for the humor and extreme gore. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it, just thought it was very low in quality. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless you were bored and had nothing else to watch.
a good horror movie
Everyone has to love this film it wasn’t made to be taken seriously. It was made as a throwback to the classic 70′s and 80′s monster suit flicks it’s meant to be unrealistic stupid and full of laughs.
a good comedy and monster flick thats worth checking out
Completely hated this movie! I mean there was some good scenes in there but the acting was just terrible, I didn’t get the comedy at all and we hardly got to see the creatures.
Entertaining and funny no brainer coated with gore.
Such a great film henry rollins taking the piss out of himself classic.
Well Well Well, this lands on my top 5 of all great movies.
It is entertaining, gory, action…It has everything….
For a true horror fan that is not afraid to watch something that can be called lame by many but greatness amongst outself.
A true classic and worth the watch.
Take this into your little dark souls that love the twisted world of horror.
Took me forever to see this film and I’m glad I finally watched it. Definitely a cult classic. Right amount of gore, scare, and comedy to keep this in my top 10 for a long time.
I found a 3 disk dvd set that includes Feast, Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds and Feast 3: the Happy Finish. I have 3 things to say.
1) Why didn’t you mention Henry Rollins? I’ll see ANYTHING with him in it.
2) Why don’t movies like this make it to theaters instead of crappy remakes?
3) The first film, FEAST, is off the wall.
It reminds me of the Tremor series but with a hell of a lot more “fun”. Thank you for recommending this movie. I hope The Descent is just as good.
hahahahahahahaha
holy shit, that’s my review… that’s all that needs to be said.
Seriously, blood on top of bloody with guts and monsters and people getting eaten as FUCK. Hilarious
I think I may be alone in this, but I did not like this movie at all.
I do have to give it props for being original though.
One of my exact reactions to this film is as follows:
“WTF!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! Did that monster just face f*ck that dying lady and bust a half gallon load down her throat before exploding?!?!”
Yup….
Hobo Approved(TM)
This movie was a GOOD TIME! That’s all I have to say. Definitely recommended.
What a fun, gory, and unpredictable ride!
“Feast” will no doubt please some die-hard horror fans, just as many horror-comedies such as “Cabin Fever” and other before it have. I appreciate good comedy because sometimes, it’s good to laugh. But it’s hard to laugh when people are getting their faces mauled off my monsters, their limbs hacked off by machetes, or fresh torn off by sharp claws. Sure, there is a way, in the sacred book of the campy and the absurd, to make blood and gore satiric and funny; but “Feast” is yet another movie that lacks the wit and humor that it intends to deliver.
I don’t mind the movie, and I wouldn’t call it bad. There were moments where I was able to like it, although that said, they were just little moments. The rest of the movie, good moments aside, it just one big mindless fest of schizophrenia. I would have been okay with this, if the thing had the ability to be genuinely fun.
I liked the opening shots of “Feast”, which depict a man, on a small television-like screen, picking up a dead animal off the road in the middle-of-nowhere. There’s also a car-crash that comes abruptly after this short-lived but entertaining sequence, and then we are given a lift (cinematically) to a bar, in which we are greeted by several unimportant but somehow prospering characters. The introductions, which each include a freeze-frame shot of the character, describing their back-grounds and predicting, perhaps, when and how they will die, are meant to be funny, but man, were they often dumb. Soon after meeting every damn person (one of which is Jason Mewes, for all you “Jay and Silent Bob” or “Clerks” fans out there), a bloodied hero figure comes storming in the bar, and warns everyone that evil monsters are about to attack the joint. And they do, along with their ugly little bastard monster offspring.
The whole movie it just one big joke, and it’s not really a funny one. Characters die, monsters die, and human beings get their eyes eaten away (even more) by maggots. Gross, to many, but funny to others. I guess that’s the philosophy that the filmmakers were working with, and I’m sorry to say, it’s not a really good one. But if you can laugh at the mere sight of a monster humping another monster, a monster humping a woman’s face, or even a monster raping a deer head on a pub wall, then this might be the movie for you.
I suppose I need to applaud the filmmaker, John Gulager, for creating something on a tiny budget without making it horrific to the point of complete non-enjoyment. Some people believe that filmmakers don’t make “trash” because they are scared, although I disagree. Well, “Feast” is trash, but that’s what it wants to be, and I’m not exactly calling it that in a particularly negative sense. It’s not ugly. It’s not nauseatingly violent (for the most part, at least). But it’s not all that good either. It just doesn’t work out that well, and while I certainly see some of what people have been raving about, there’s plenty I must have missed.
Horror-comedies don’t need to surrender one side of the double-genre for another. “Feast” uses frantic and swift editing and shaky-cam cinematography to perhaps induce fear by not letting us get a good glimpse at its monsters (until the end, that is), but this movie couldn’t have been all that scary to begin with. The monsters don’t look all that bad in terms of make-up and costume effects, and I sort of admire the work going on there. But then when it comes to the comedy stuff; it’s as I said. The thing is a hit-or-a-miss. You either love “Feast”, or you hate “Feast”. I have just as much fun picking as I did watching the film as an entirety.
gross, over-the-top, but in a fun way. I dunno, I really wanted to hate this movie. And I really wish there were more hero deaths (the first one was AWESOME!). The whole idea of the creatures banging it just outside to reproduce within minutes was different and edgy.
Still, as much fun as it was, and as much as I said I’d like to hate it but ended up instead enjoying it, I gotta say I didn’t like it.
I know, it’s confusing. But so were my feelings when I watched this mess of graphic violence, gore, and disturbing sexual material.
A campy, gory good time!
Do not overlook this film! One of the best monster movies I’ve ever seen. Very gory and one of those rare horror comedy successes. Hilarious, with great acting by mostly an unknown cast. My one regret is that Henry Rollins was given such a large role. I like the guy but I don’t think he can act.
