Speaking of ‘Grind House’… Here’s Official Casting News

Although this news comes pretty damn late, there are a few small tid-bits worth chewing on. Freddy (Poseidon) Rodriguez, Rose (Scream) McGowan and Josh (The Dead Girl) Brolin will star in Robert Rodriguez’s “Planet Terror,” a 60-minute zombie movie to be accompanied by a slasher film directed by Quentin Tarantino and released under the title Grind House by Dimension Films, according to Variety. As previously reported Dimension will bow “Grind House” — a tribute to the ’70s exploitation films that influenced both directors — on Easter weekend next year. This past Easter saw a record-breaking holiday weekend for Dimension with the release of “Scary Movie 4.” Casting hasn’t officially been announced for Tarantino’s “Death Proof,” which is now filming in Los Angeles, CA. Marley Shelton, Michael Biehn, Jeff Fahey, Michael Parks and the Black Eyed Peas’ Stacy Ferguson round out the cast in “Planet.” The two pics will be surrounded by faux trailers created by Tarantino and Rodriguez. ‘Scary Movie 4′ Isn’t Going to be Very Scary

Dark Horizons reports that Anna Faris talked to a UK radio station about Scary Movie 4, and it pretty much confirms the rumors we’ve heard around the time of Scary Movie 3′s release, “Anna Faris told me that she’s signed to do Scary Movie 4 but “they want this one to concentrate on all the comic book superhero movies like Batman, Superman, X-men and so on, and I think there might be some trouble convincing the people in charge of those characters to let them be used for the movie – especially because they’re going to be spoofing them – like having Charlie Sheen playing superman and all that” Follow the link for more details.
