Dear Michael Bay:
Can I please have the leading lady role back in Transformers III.
Love,
Megan Fox
Pretty cool if you don’t want plot or anything else important.
The reason it seemed so choppy and rushed is because it was shot as an R rated movie, and then the studio cut it down to make it PG-13. Maybe when it comes out on DVD they will release the uncut version.
An all-too-brief helluva good time. Switch your brain off for the 80 minute run time and enjoy the damn ride!
Gotta agree with VincenzoPescado on this one! Great popcorn fun flick! What summers all about.
CORNY do not even no why its on this website if u even give this movie a chance DO NOT be on bloody disgusting it is NOWHERE near a horror and i would NEVER watch this so-called film.
Jonah Hex is the type of movie you have to be in the mood for , the not type would be a western film that your paying big bucks to see ex: Jonah Hex , and then coming out of 1hr later this movie has many flaws that can not be saved even by its talented cast , such as Josh Brolin , Megan Fox , and John Malkovich , the film only runs (with credits) 81mins (without) 72mins the movie is too short , for anyone to rush and see it , unless you are a true die-hard fan of the genre. But mainly mostly for everyone including me , more of the teenage boys are seeing this film for one thing? Megan Fox , now don’t get me wrong i feel the same way she is very gorgeous , and it is fun to watch , but as i stated the movie cant be saved , but its slick , somewhat Nifty and in a way i enjoyed the film not enough for me to see rush into the theaters and see it but Rent it.. yea that sounds about rite.
The film comes from the DC comic of the same name , but the director of this movie , really catches me , Jimmy Haywerd who was behind such renditions such as Horton Hears a Who , and other kid friendly films , I do not understand what it is with directors today trying to transition from one Genre to the next which makes me begin to beg the question on how Legend of the Guardians will be when it is later released this fall from director Zack Snyder who directed 300 & Watchmen?. Anyway i think Haywerd is in way over his head and with the budget he had you would think it would be a longer capacity movie , but sadly no. He tries to the fill the movie with Explosions , a caftan gun on a horse. It just feels the same. It tries to hard to get your attention and to get you through the 72 min run time , so you know the movie is gonna be moving quickly and not slow down.
The story here follows the line of redemption and Vengeance after Quentin Turnbold (John Malkovich) he’s son was infact murdered by Hex or so he says , and he is seeking vengeance otherwise , he ties down hex , and forces him to watch as his family is burned alive rite in front of his eye’s. After that night he was a changed man , once a noble , heartwarming loving father. He now stands nothing to lose , After a sudden run-in @ a local nearby town trying to collect his bounty , he has now become a most wanted criminal. But after news arrives that Turnbold has not dead or has risen up from the graves of hell , this gives Hex a whole new meaning , and gives him a reason to keep on going. Then we meet the beautiful Megan Fox as a seemingly less prostitute , who well lets face kind of fits her part here.
But i know all i have been saying are negative comments about the film , im not advising you to skip it , it had its moments at times where indeed the film redeemed itself , the film is not good , great , or perfect its Worth yes of being picked up at your local video store. The film has decent special effects and i think this should win an award for most explosions compacted into such a short time-line , this i know i am rambling , this is such a surprise to find out its only 72mins long , most westerns run into the 2hr range but maybe thats what separates this film for all the others , its not the best but its also not the worst its in there , the film is decent , and i say in my final opinion , you should more then likely rent it unless you want to spend $10 for something that will go back reasonably quick i don’t know thats your call.

Thanks For Stoppin Buy
Nothing new in this film, but for those wanting to watch Josh Brolin take Down John Malcovhich this still may not sway you.
I personally enjoyed the film (being able to look past the obvious mediocrity) there were aspects of the film that were good, but at the end will leave you feeling incomplete. The fiml moved to quickly, and the character development could have been much much better, though, i am glad (yet sad) that Megan Fox was in so few scenes. Glad becuase she cannot be blamed for ruining this film with her acting, and upset becuase she was looking quite stunning.
This is a rental, and the hype i felt for depleted toards the end. Not a terrible film by any means, but not unique really in any way.
Not very good. We’ve seen it all before but its just in a western setting. Megan Fox you may be sexy but man you cant act worth shit. Not recommended wait for the DVD.
Megan Fox.
Ruined…oh why…
Dumb movie. Nuff said.
This movie is futher proof that Megan Fox will stink up anything she is involved with.
ehh not my fav
I thought i would give this a shot last night as it was on VOD
I really liked parts of it- Brolin was solid throughout- Fox is beautiful but she was so bad- the film totally jumped the rails in the last 10-15 minutes and just deflated and died- Too Bad.. Also
there is something about having Super Weapons in a western that
I cannot buy.
i dont F***ING care about what people think about this movie.it was awsome.but it should be longer.and for many people who decides movies realese dates,NEVER REALESE A MOVIE THE SAME DAY AS ANY PIXAR FILM.
I don’t get why this movie is receiving such low ratings. It is very entertaining, and has plenty of action and dark comedy. I’ve never read any of the comics, so I couldn’t compare it. Josh Brolin pulls an amazing performance as Jonah Hex. One night, Jonah’s commanding officer, Quentin Turnbull murders Jonah’s family and brands his face with a hot iron. Jonah is revived by Native American and is given supernatural powers to temporarily resurrect and communicate with the dead. Jonah learns that Turnbull is planning on building a weapon to destroy the United States. He teams up with a gun-slinging prostitute named Lilah and tries to stop him, and get the revenge he deserves. I highly recommend JONAH HEX!!!
I totally agree with zombiefan09 on this one. A movie that gives the full package. I see paradies to Clint’s ” Man with no name” in Jonah’s character, so it will even appeal to my Dad, so, Jonah Hex Will Entertain even the most boring family members.
Nothing terrible, but nothing great. An entertaining film nonetheless. I waited forever to watch this film due to the bad reviews I heard. The acting was decent and I did really like the story. Worth a watch, though not for everyone.
not to shaby but i havent read any of the comics so ignore me
Pathetic and dumb. Powerful super weapons in a western?
This film is not horror, what the hell does this movie here?
There are comic books that can bring the medium to the screen as a film, and then there are comic books that can’t make a successful entry when it comes to adaptation. You’ve got “Watchmen”. You’ve got “Spiderman”. You’ve got your failures, your successes, and then you’ve got entries such as “Jonah Hex”; a comic book film flawed to the point of no return.
I might as well get down to business here. It’s not like you’ll care much about this movie, since I didn’t, and frankly, why should you? If you enjoy the comic, then you may want to see this just for the sake of seeing it. Your viewing will serve the same purpose as this film does for existence, and if you know any better than me, then you’ll know that “Jonah Hex” exists for no purpose whatsoever.
It’s a comic book movie, so its plot has the tendency to jump from one thing to another, which has been acceptable in the past. But to be a good comic book movie, you need to leap from the pages of the novel and invade the screen with much passion, and this is not what happens here. The plot concerns a hard-ass, facially scarred and ugly Western Cowboy named Jonah Hex. He’s a bounty-hunter, a ghost whisperer, a charmer, and a smooth-talker in a number of ways. Hex is played by Josh Brolin; a man who can play this role, attempt it, but can also fail to save the production (and story) from going to complete unwatchable hell.
So you’ve got Hex, and now you just need something for him to do. You see, Jonah’s family was burned in a fire by a man named Quentin Turnbull, who felt as if Hex had betrayed him. This was an act of vengeance, which created more vengeance, which boils up inside Hex for years until he can’t wait to get his squirmy little mitts on the man who killed his family. After hearing news of Quentin’s apparent death (which we all know is a load of bull anyways), Jonah feels as if he has no purpose. But as I said, it sounds like bull, and as always, it is. Quentin is very much alive, now acting as some sort of terrorist bent on destroying the world with weaponry and bombs which resemble dragon-balls from everyone’s favorite classic anime.
There may be some influence going on here. The film acts like a Western comic book film, without ever feeling like a movie. It’s too fast, yet to short, and never involving or entertaining enough to draw the viewer in for even a second. Brolin, as Hex, is given dialogue which tends to work for a little bit, but all-in-all, it’s utterly forgettable. Then there’s Megan Fox, who sounds and acts absolutely horrible, in an equally as horrible movie. John Malkovich takes roles as bad as this one from time-to-time, but that doesn’t make it right, and that doesn’t mean I enjoy watching the horrible-ness unfold. Lastly, you have a role which is played by Will Arnett, who should not be found in this kind of movie anyway. But hey; neither should the likes of Michael Fassbender and Michael Shannon.
What has “Jonah Hex” tripping over its own shoe-lases and falling face-first into a pile of stinky pretention and boredom is not bad setting, characters, or ambitions; but bad filmmaking and acting. There’s no purpose to the film, there’s no purpose to LIKE the film, and there’s not really a reason to watch it. I’d like to say that there are things to like here, but there just isn’t shit. The production itself is a bowl of visual mediocrity, the action is pretty underwhelming, and the whole thing just rots like a corpse. It’s a one-dimensional flick. But hey; if that’s the kind of movie that you want to see, then go right ahead, take a shot.
This is fast and painless. No where near as bad as people are making it out to be.Brolin does a great job for what he has for a script.Megan Fox is barely in it which is a good thing.Malkovich was as good as always as a villain. And it has a shitload of character actors even Tom Wopat(Luke Duke). It actually had a Wild Wild West feel to it with the gadgets and weapons.I got to watch for free and thoroughly enjoyed it.If they would have went for a R rated flick this might not have flopped. The ending fight was underwhelming.Turn off your brain and enjoy the short ride.
