Is this a joke? There are no user reviews for House?! Seriously? I thought this was a horror website. Guess I was mistaken.
All I have to say to you all: watch this movie! 80′s classic. In the vein of Evil Dead 2 (though I wouldn’t call it as good or anything). Lots of fun moments and cool effects. Nice to see George Wendt as the goofy curious neighbor. Plus you’ve got Fred Dekker as a co-writer and Steve Miner directing.
Enjoy. But steer clear of the second one. Holy god, steer clear.
One of the funnest, weirdest & craziest Haunted House films ever made, this 80s nugget deserves another visit.
The best horror comedy ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
A fun horror movie, great creatures and the portals in the house is a cool idea. The sequels are also good, but different in tone.
a true classic.
It didn’t do anything for for me.
I loved it when i was a kid and more than 15 years later I still like it.
Fairly entertaining haunted house comedy, very amusing and funny, but also pretty scary and tense. Nice story, gorgeous effects, good cast (especially the great George Wendt), nice score. Not a masterpiece but definitely a perfect popcorn flick.
Cool 80′s flick!! William Katt was great. The lasting image that I remember is the kid in the beginning finding the old woman swinging from the noose. Love the scenes with George Wendt. The monster in the closet was sweet. It’s a strange mind bender of a film. Great scenes with Richard Moll as well. I really felt bad when he was being carried away by the enemy in the jungle. That sad desperation in his voice. “Roger, I’ll get you for this”. Crazy fun!!!! Check it out!!!
One of those movies that comes along so rarely that is it’s own thing…Funny…and scary…a real horror comedy. One of the coolest posters from the eighties as well. A LOT of genre names attatched to this one as well. Shaun Cunningham, Steve Miner, and Fred Dekker.
Great movie. Such a classic. Too bad the sequels werent as good as this one. The 3rd one was really weird from what I remember. Need to check this one out.
Cool flick
I loved this movie when I first saw it in the 80′s. I would have given it a 10…I just bought it on dvd…and turned it off after 20mins….It is terrible. I guess I liked it back then because it had William Katt in it (from the series “the greatest american hero”)
7.5/10
I really like this movie for some reason.
The 80s effects are priceless.
I hated this so much when it came out that I could never finish it….wonder what I would think now???
This gem has it all!Cool effects, great story, good acting, and great humor.A true horror classic!
Just plain BAD! Watched this thing with all the memories of an 80′s child, and it didn’t deliver on any count. The creatures were atrocious and for some reason when it flashed back to vietnam, it looked so after school cheap I couldn’t finnish watching it.
A true 80′s horror classic with lotsa charm and chills!
Totally dug this flick. Great cheese and epic 80′s haunting movie. It’s definetley worth a look, and if you’re a big fan of GOOD 80′s cheese, I’d actually advise you track this one down. Crazy fun
