Corey Feldman Confirms Death Of ‘Lost Boys’ Franchise

I was out after the atrocious 2008 Lost Boys 2: The Tribe. But as quick as I bailed, Warner Premiere pulled me back in with the highly entertaining 2010 direct-to-disc Lost Boys 3: The Thirst. READ MORE

OMFG of the Day: Read the Original ‘Lost Boys’ Sequel/Prequel Script!!

Years before Warner Premiere dumped out the insanely crappy sequel to The Lost Boys, The Tribe, legendary ’80s horror writer Eric Red (The Hitcher, Near Dark) had penned a prequel to the first film that came from a story by both Red and Joel Shumacher (who directed the original). “The script was set in San Francisco at the turn of the century and followed a vampire that hooks up with the five kids who were to become THE LOST BOYS.” Want to read the screenplay? Want to see what could have once happened? Want to wish you had a time machine and millions of dollars? All you have to do is click on over to AITH to download. I’d love to hear what you guys think after you’ve read it. Cool stuff? (more…) READ MORE

First Stills from Joel Schumacher’s ‘Blood Creek’ (Finally)

It’s still so weird to me that Lionsgate put this film in theaters without ANY stills, trailer or poster art. Well, to prepare for the January 19 DVD release of Joel Schumacher’s Blood Creek, Bloody Disgusting has finally received the first ever still from the Nazi-thriller starring Dominic Purcell and Henry Cavill. The two will star as brothers on a mission of revenge who become trapped in a harrowing occult experiment that dates back to the Third Reich. (more…) READ MORE

Lionsgate Brings Schumacher’s ‘Blood Creek’ to DVD

Arriving on DVD January 19 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment is Joel Schumacher’s long-delayed Blood Creek (formerly Creek; review). Acclaimed director Joel Schumacher (The Lost Boys, Tigerland) takes the reins of Blood Creek, a tense supernatural horror-thriller concerning two brothers who find themselves at the center of a terrifying occult experiment. In 1936, the Wollners, a German family living in Town Creek, West Virginia, are contacted by the Third Reich to host a visiting scholar. In need of money, they accept Professor Richard Wirth into their home, unaware of the Third Reich’s practices in the occult and Wirth’s real mission that will keep the family bound for decades to come. After 71 years, in 2007, Evan Marshall’s life has stalled at 25 years old when he is left without answers after his older brother Victor’s disappearance from a camping trip near Town Creek. When Victor returns one night, very much alive, and having escaped his captors, Evan asks no questions. At his brother’s request, he loads their rifles, packs their boat and follows Victor back to Town Creek on a mission of revenge that will test them in every possible way. The DVD features audio commentary with director Joel Schumacher. (more…) READ MORE

Update: Official One Sheet For ‘Downloading Nancy’

When it premiered as an official selection at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, Downloading Nancy (trailer) became one of the most controversial films ever to premiere at the festival. Set at the dawn of the Internet explosion, the film is inspired by a true story of one woman’s deadly desire to journey on the Internet to satisfy a dark psycho sexual need. While we’re unsure about how dark the film gets, some attendees of the festival told us that we should definitely be telling you dear reader about this forthcoming release. Beyond the break you can check out the official one sheet for Pamela Cuming & Lee Ross’s project arriving in limited cities on June 5. (more…) READ MORE

UPDATE: Writer Attached to ‘Lost Boys 3′, Feldman Returns

Update: Moviehole.net adds that Jamison Newlander has also been cast! We’ve learned exclusively that veteran TV writer Evan Charnov (Fearless) has been tapped to pen the screenplay for The Lost Boys 3, Warner Premiere’s next direct-to-disc sequel to the classic teen-vamp film from 1987. In addition, Corey Feldman has come on to executive produce and will also return once again as Edgar Frog. We’re told this film will actually focus on Feldman’s popular character (thank God). Corey Haim’s return as Sam Emerson is highly, highly unlikely at this point in time. (more…) READ MORE

Bill S. Preston, Esq. to Direct 3D Remake of ‘The Gate’

Now here’s some random news that’s either excellent or completely bogus. Alex Winter has been tapped to director a 3D remake of the 1987 horror film The Gate, according to Production Weekly. You might remember Winter as Bill S. Preston, Esq. from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey), and Marko from The Lost Boys. He replaces Randall William Cook behind the camera. The original, which starred Stephen Dorff, followed three young children who accidentally release a horde of nasty, pint-sized demons from a hole in a suburban backyard. What follows is a classic battle between good and evil as the three kids struggle to overcome a nightmarish hell that is literally taking over the Earth. (more…) READ MORE

Anchor Bay’s Doc ‘Bloodsucking Cinema’ Comes to DVD

They are the sexy embodiment of immortality. Their literal lust for life rivals the antics of today’s rockstars. The story of the vampire has ravished humanity for thousands of years. But, in particular, evil, erotic and insatiable, vampires have stalked our dreams – especially with our eyes wide open in a darkened theater. The vampire has been a fixture of the cinematic landscape, from the silent era to today’s CGI blockbusters. What is the continuing fascination? The Starz Originals documentary Bloodsucking Cinema, which Anchor Bay Entertainment is releasing on DVD September 23 at the anemic SRP of $19.97, goes a long way to toward explaining this attraction.
