When John Carpenter’s The Thing was released in 1982, it was rejected by audiences and critics alike. Best & Worst ’10: MICAH’S BOTTOM 5 OF 2010

Not every film released to direct-to-disc can be a winner. This list contains five such disc only releases from 2010. I attempted to not pick on the little guys (too much) and instead took a look at some of the larger disc release disappointments of the year. Luckily or unluckily depending on your outlook, it wasn’t hard to come up with a list of failures. Check ‘em out below. Consumer online voting is now under way for the Second Annual Reaper Awards, honoring the best horror/thriller titles on DVD and Blu-ray. Horror fans can vote for their favorite discs from the past year, as well as vote on which titles they are most looking forward to in the coming months, through October 1st at the official Home Media Magazine website or on the official Reaper Awards website. Arriving on DVD and Blu-ray October 27 from Sony Home Entertainment is Fred Dekker’s classic 80′s film, Night of the Creeps. Below you’ll find the trailer, interview clips, behind-the-scenes clips and more! In this campy chiller, a college couple, in 1959, see an object plummet to Earth like a meteor. The boy accidentally swallows a space-slug that shoots out. In 1986, two freshmen roam the campus and stumble across the corpse of the boy who swallowed the space-slug. Weinstein’s ‘The Burning’ Coming to DVD?!

First Review Ever! James Gunn’s ‘Slither’!!

Wow do we have a special treat for you thanks to scooper Sluggy Sluggerson! Inside you’ll find the first ever review of James Gunn’s upcoming Slither, which was written after a special test screening (meaning the film isn’t 100% completed). In Gunn’s film, Starla enlists the help of Bill to deal with her husband, Grant. Grant is infected with an alien plague, which has turned him into a slithering, flesh-eating creature. As Grant’s murder spree evolves from pets to people, the disease threatens to overrun the town with slithering, worm-like creatures.
