‘Uncanny Valley’ Aims to Preserve Old School Horror

UncannyValley

The horror genre is seeing a bit of a renaissance lately, and that looks to extend to 2D survival horror. Fran Bow, Claire, Neverending Nightmares, and Silence of the Sleep are just a few examples of indie devs who are looking to introduce old school horror to a new audience, or give longtime fans of the genre a modern take on the style of games we all enjoyed 10+ years ago.

Uncanny Valley is another horror game to make full use of this style, only this title aims to go even more old school with its retro, 16 bit visuals.

If you want to help them out, you can support Uncanny Valley on Indiegogo.

Oh the nostalgia… I don’t want to sound old, but there is something so appealing about 2D games. It harkens to my childhood. “Pepperidge Farm remembers…”

You only sound old if you tell us how good we have it today, because in your day you had to walk fifteen miles uphill in the snow, both ways, to play a video game. So I think you’re good. ;)

Adam, I would really love to see you play this next.

      I may do that!
