Stephen King’s ‘It’ Coming to Blu-ray

In 1990, ABC held a two-part miniseries event where they brought Stephen King’s novel It to the small screen. Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and starring Dennis Christopher, Annette O’Toole, John Ritter, Harry Anderson, Richard Thomas, Tim Reid, Richard Masur, and Michael Cole, the film introduced a new horror icon in the form of Tim Curry’s “Pennywise”. While clowns may have scared people before, this movie probably spiked instances of coulrophobia.

After more than a quarter of a century since its airing, It is coming to Blu-ray and it’s just in time for Halloween! The edition comes with Blu-ray and DVD discs as well as a t-shirt. No specifications have been made regarding any sort of special features.

A malevolent force in a small New England town takes the shape of a clown, but he’s not clowning around. Instead, he terrifies youngsters and brings some to their untimely doom – until some wily kids fight back. The evil resurfaces 30 years later: meaner, angrier, deadlier. And friends who vividly remember youthful terrors reunite to battle It.
