Wesley Snipes Will Hunt Aliens in ‘The Recall’

Minds Eye Entertainment’s The Recall has begun principal photography for the sci-fi action/thriller over in British Colombia, Canada.

When five friends vacation at a remote lake house, they expect nothing less than a good time, unaware that planet Earth is under an alien invasion and mass-abduction.

The film is directed by Mauro Borrelli, who has worked with Tim Burton and was the film illustrator for Pirates of the Caribbean and Captain America, and was written by Reggie Keyohara III and Sam Acton.

The Recall stars RJ Mitte (“Breaking Bad”), Jedidiah Goodacre (Descendants), Niko Pepaj (“Awkward”), Laura Maria Bilgeri (Toby Goes to Camp), Hannah Rose May (“Ballers”) and Wesley Snipes (Blade, The Expendables 3, Chi-raq) as “The Hunter”.

Interestingly, the film will be shot for the new Barco Escape three-screen format, which uses a panoramic screen that is meant to make viewers feel like they are fully surrounded by the experience. Some portions are also being shot for Virtual Reality.

Considering his recent tax troubles, Snipes should have played “The Auditor” in the new Hellraiser flick.

I will give this a shot. I am very glad to see that Wesley Snipes is slowly climbing back up the ladder. I have always liked him as actor. Laurence Olivier he ain’t, but what he does, he does well. I still have hopes, but I’m not holding my breath, to see him in another Blade movie.

So would I but the current rumour is that Marvel are looking to bring in a young female character to replace Blade (not the blade character but as a lead) and in the comics have her as his daughter (long lost of course) and Snipes has said before that there are whispers of a fourth film that would “take the series into a different world) I can’t see them making an R-Rated film but I do think a Midnight Sons mini-series on Netflix would work.

      • Matt

Yeah, that’s why I’m not holding my breath. I’m afraid that old Wes may have burned his bridges on this one. Hopefully they (the studio) will realize that the best way to a good payday is by bringing Mr. Snipes back in another R-rated feature. Dead Pool proves that R-rated superhero flicks still work.

        • DJV1985

So true but Marvel studios wouldn’t go there. I’m sure they’ve already said that they would push the boundaries with their current film rating but they don’t need to go R-Rated.

Sadly lol imagine a R-Rated hulk – Seeing him rip someone in half and the blood and guts going everywhere lol

Are you Mark Millar in disguise?! That scenario seems to have jumped right out of The Ultimates.

I laughed so hard at this lmaoo

  • Halloween_Vic

Stop with the Virtual Reality shit I want to watch movies on the full screen.

    • Evan3

Have you tried a movie using VR?

      • Halloween_Vic

Sadly no, which I’m sure it’s awesome but not everyone can go and cough up $400-$600 bucks for one which If I had the money like that I totally would. But I still like my movies on the full screen.

        • Evan3

That is the high end one, but Samsung sells a system for about $100 and Google Cardboard is like $30.00.

I haven’t tried it, but I understand that VR tricks you into thinking you are watching movies on the full screen.

          • Halloween_Vic

Dammm you made me want one now lol :/

          • Evan3

LOL – I want one too. If you buy one first, promise to let me play with it.

          • Halloween_Vic

Fine you can have first dibs lol. I really wanted to wait to get the one for the PS4 being that it’s the only game system I play but there price tag is running around $400?

What’s “British Colombia”? You mean British Columbia? Jesus, the writing for this site is going downhill. That and the crap owner’s ties with C-movies and over-hype….done with this site.

  • Evan3

This sounds really exciting. And good to see Mitre get some work, he really impressed on Breaking Bad.
