In Pyewacket, from director Adam MacDonald (Backcountry), a frustrated girl (Nicole Muñoz) attempts an occult ritual but awakens something sinister in the woods instead.
The film, ironically from the executive producer of The Witch, is actually about a young girl who performs an occult ritual to evoke a witch to kill her mother.
Hailing out of Canada and hiding within the Contemporary World Cinema program of the Toronto International Film Festival, we now have the frightening first trailer and stills. This dark horse has easily become one of our most anticipated genre films out of the festival taking place next month.
