New Dino Baryonyx Fully Revealed in Fiery ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Image; Plot Details!

The official trailer arrives this Thursday!

We caught a brief glimpse of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘s Baryonyx in a trailer tease just yesterday, but EW got their hands on a full-on still image of the beast today!

As noted on the Jurassic World website, Baryonyx (which means “Heavy Claw”) is a 30-foot, 2-ton carnivore, one of the largest fish-eating dinosaurs.

Its crocodile-like head and dangerous claws make it a master hunter of rivers and lakes for Cretaceous-era sushi.”

The sequel — set several years after 2015’s billion-dollar smash Jurassic World — concerns a volcano on Isla Nublar that threatens the dinosaurs that had overrun the park at the end of the previous film,” EW notes. “Who has the best shot at preventing the prehistoric beasts from becoming extinct (again)? That would be Chris Pratt’s dino trainer Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard’s former park manager Claire Dearing.”

In Fallen Kingdom

“With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful franchises in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before.”

J. A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) directed the new installment.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel, which also stars Jeff Goldblum, along with Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones. Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, wrote the script for the sequel with Derek Connolly.

Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again join executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow. Belén Atienza also produced.

Life finds a way on June 22, 2018.
