Film Series Will Screen Movies Like ‘The Strangers’ and ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ at Actual Filming Locations

Published

You’ve seen your favorite horror films countless times, maybe even on the big screen, but one fan has now taken it upon himself to bring movie screenings to a whole new level.

His name is Kenny Caperton, and you may know him as the man who lives in “Myers House NC,” an exact replica of the iconic house from Halloween. His latest venture is titled On Set Cinema, dedicated to screening movies at their actual filming locations.

Caperton explains…

“Imagine your favorite movie of all time. Do you remember how it felt when you first saw it? Maybe you were a child or possibly a teenager in high school. Did you watch it with your best friend or on a first date? Remember when your heart skipped a beat when the killer jumped out from behind the door? Or when you heard that theme music for the first time? Each time you rewatch that movie you are somehow transported back to the first time.

When you’re a true fan of something, you want to be surrounded by it and live in it if you could. We all know there’s only so close you can get to a movie when you’re watching it from home on the couch. But what if it was possible to get closer? What if you could step into the screen for a moment? Introducing ON SET CINEMA, an exciting way for fans to experience the films and shows they love: up close, in person, and at the filming locations where they were shot!”

Upcoming On Set Cinema screenings include:

  • Saturday, June 9, 2018: Empire Records (Wilmington, NC)
  • Saturday, July 7, 2018: I Know What You Did Last Summer (Burgaw, NC)
  • Saturday, August 18, 2018: The Strangers (Florence, SC)
  • Saturday, September 22, 2018: The Mutilator (Atlantic Beach, NC)
  • December 2018 (Date TBA): Final Exam (Gaffney, SC)

Little Mermaid horror

Following in the wake of Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse getting their own horror movies, Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid is the next to get the twisted treatment.

Originally published in 1837, the original tale of The Little Mermaid is now in the public domain, and MSR Media International presents their own horror version of the tale this year.

The Little Mermaid is being distributed by Grindstone Entertainment Group, and the film has officially been rated “R” this week for “Language, some violence and brief nudity.”

In the film from director Leigh Scott, “Dr. Eric Prince, an archaeologist, makes a dramatic discovery on a small Caribbean island—proof of an ancient, advanced prehistoric society. While his dig is in progress, he meets the mysterious and beautiful Aurora Bey and falls in love. Her arrival coincides with several mermaid sightings and strange disappearances.

“When Eric’s friend and mentor, Dr. Ashley, arrives on the island, Ashley uncovers the true identity of Aurora and the dangers of the hidden evil inside Eric’s dig site. Will Eric heed his friend’s advice, or will he be blinded by love and the power of the siren, allowing the world to fall to the forces of evil?”

Lydia Helen, Mike Markoff and Jeff Denton star in The Little Mermaid.

You can watch the trailer now over on MSR Media International’s website.
