‘Salem’s Lot’ Remake Will Release Only in Theaters This September!
While we wait for a trailer, Warner Bros. has confirmed this afternoon that their new take on Stephen King‘s vampire story Salem’s Lot is coming exclusively to theaters later this year, currently set for September 9, 2022. This will actually be the first time this particular King classic has ever been on the big screen, as both previous adaptations were made-for-TV.
The September 9 date isn’t *new* news, but it’s been about a year since we’ve heard a peep about the project so it’s good to know that the original plan still remains for this one.

James Wan is producing Salem’s Lot 2022 for Warner Bros. and New Line, with Gary Dauberman (It, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home) writing the script and also directing.
“Haunted by an incident from his childhood, author Ben Mears returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover the town is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire and his Loyola servant.”
The cast includes Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Alfre Woodard, Bill Camp, John Benjamin Hickey, Nicholas Crovetti, Jordan Preston Carter, William Sadler, Spencer Treat Clark, Cade Woodward, Debra Christofferson, and Pilou Asbaek.
Fresh off Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Tobe Hooper directed the very first adaptation of Salem’s Lot back in 1979, and a new mini-series followed in its wake more recently, in 2004.

Six months after taking the world by storm on the big screen, Toho’s epic masterpiece Godzilla Minus One has finally been unleashed AT HOME here in the United States today.
The official Godzilla website announces, “Fans of the King of the Monsters can now stream Godzilla Minus One on Netflix, with Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color digital purchase ($14.99) and digital rental ($5.99) available across popular platforms.
“Godzilla Minus One is available to stream on Netflix starting June 1, subtitled and dubbed in Japanese, English, and more languages in North America. Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color will be available to stream on Netflix later this summer.
“The subtitled versions of Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color can also be purchased or rented digitally in subtitled versions starting June 1 on Amazon, Apple iTunes, Google Play, Microsoft, and FandangoNOW/VUDU, inDemand, XBOX, and Vubiquity. The films will also be offered through Dish and DirecTV for digital purchase and rental.

“Godzilla Minus One opened in North American theaters on December 1, 2023 nationwide after being shown in participating premium large format theaters for Early Access Fan Event Screenings on November 29. Its black and white version, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color, released in North America on January 26, 2024, running for one week only through February 1, 2024.
