‘Anything But Ghosts’ – Curry Barker Reveals ‘Obsession’ Follow-Up Plot Details
With Obsession in theaters now, director Curry Barker has revealed the first plot details for his next feature, Anything But Ghosts, which has already wrapped production.
“It’s about these two con artist ghost hunters that just con old women and single dads, but they’re really good at it,” Barker tells CBR. “They can make the table shake, they can make the lights flicker. They’ve got all this special equipment.”
He continues, “They put on a show, until they run into a very real, very dangerous dark entity.”
Barker directs from a script he co-wrote with longtime creative partner Cooper Tomlinson (Milk & Serial). The duo also stars as the ghost hunters.
“It’s so different than Obsession, because the idea itself just lends itself better to comedy, because it’s literally about two ghost hunter con artists,” Barker told Bloody Disgusting.
“It’s Cooper and me doing our thing, so it lends itself better to comedy, but it’s still set in this super grounded world. It’s ghosts being real in a world where ghosts are not real,” he added.
Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), and Violet McGraw (M3GAN) also star in Anything But Ghosts.
Blumhouse’s Jason Blum produces with Roy Lee & Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures (Hokum) and Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer (M3GAN). Executive producers include Barker & Tomlinson for That’s a Bad Idea and Ben Ross for Image Nation (Late Night with the Devil).
Barker is currently developing a Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot for A24.

The Fall franchise heads to a new location with new characters in the upcoming Fall 2: Deadpoint, and the official trailer has been released by Lionsgate this afternoon.
Watch the official trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint below.
Look for the horror sequel in theaters September 2, 2026.
Harriet Slater (Tarot) stars in the upcoming Fall 2: Deadpoint alongside Arsema Thomas (“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”) and Tom Brittney (Greyhound).
Michael & Peter Spierig (Predestination, Jigsaw) direct Fall 2: Deadpoint from a script by Fall writers Scott Mann (who also directed the original) and Jonathan Frank.
From the survival hit that tapped into the fear of heights and left friends stranded at the top of a tower comes a climb that goes higher, gets deadlier, and hits with next-level adrenaline.
In Fall 2: Deadpoint, two friends take on new heights in Thailand, where unpredictable terrain, extreme exposure, and nowhere to hide push survival further than ever before.
Overwhelmed by her sister Hunter’s death, Jax (Slater) connects with Luce (Thomas), Hunter’s fearless friend. To heal, they attempt the infamous plank walk of Mount Kwan in Thailand.
After a sudden rockslide leaves them stranded on a fragile plank 3000 feet in the air, Jax must confront her deepest fears and fight for survival to find closure.
Fall 3 has already been greenlit, with Mann returning to the director’s chair. The first Fall was a surprise hit in theaters, scaring up $18 million at the worldwide box office back in 2022.
