Shadows Of The Damned was announced not too long ago, and it was kept a secret for a while before that. Slated by our very own very sexy Adam Dodd as the game that could redefine horror, (before knowing exactly what it was) most of you flipped your shit. With such gems like “Wow, this doesn’t look like it’s gonna redefine anything… Suda51 is overrated. ” and “One word. NO.”.
Here’s the deal. Behind the game we have executive director Suda51 (director of No More Heroes), creative producer Shinji Mikami (director of Resident Evil) and music composer Akira Yamaoka (sound director of Silent Hill). That right there is a dream team in itself. Don’t be so quick to discard this game. It’s got a lot of different horror flavors to it, from Alan Wake to Devil May Cry. It may not redefine horror, but it’s definitely going to punch horror in it’s uppity face. The game is looking at release sometime next summer on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
