This has been a good week to Resident Evil fans, and I’m happy to say it just keeps getting better. Usually a game’s first teaser shows little to no gameplay but this debut teaser for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City shows quite a bit of it. We get to see a healthy dose of zombie slaying, curb-stomping and a possible Tyrant BOW. The new music, assuming it’s a taste of what we can expect from the full game, is also decidedly Resident Evil.
What we know about the game has been unveiled in a few hearty portions over the last couple weeks. We know it’ll be out this Winter for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and we also know it will mark the glorious return to the atmosphere of the original Resident Evil games. Head past the break to see the game in action.
And for anyone who wasn’t looking closely, there are two important gameplay-related things to glean from this video: First, it looks like there will be some sort of melee option so you can kick down incoming zombies and stomp their faces into the pavement and secondly, there’s strafing. Thank you Capcom, thank you. In case you’d like to take a closer look at some of the more interesting scenes I’ve taken a few screenshots. Why? Because I love you silly.
Special thanks to KingofUltraviolence for the tip!
