SDCC ’09: Mezco Unveils Kickass ‘Wolfman’ Toys

Arriving at retailers in October from Mezco toys are three variant versions of The Wolfman, which are based on Benicio del Toro’s transformation in Universal’s remake hitting theaters November 9th. Like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., new pic will be set in Victorian England. Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence.

    Very, very small news here, but equally important. While walking the floor of the San Diego Comic Con for the final time, we came across something really interesting. At the Mezco toy booth they had a red curtain covering a figure saying "The Wolfman". I asked if I could see and they told me Universal told them they couldnt show it, and apparently there's something shown that would ruin the movie. Either way, we can look forward to something cool from Mezco soon.

  • Toys: McFarlane Toys Unveils ‘The Walking Dead’!

    Both Figures and MTV announced today that McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane will be debuting The Walking Dead, HALO Reach and officially licensed NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL 2011 action figure lines at TOY FAIR 2011! Of course, the only thing we care about here at Bloody Disgusting is "The Walking Dead" action figure line, which was teased exclusively by MTV Geek. The show was a major hit for AMC, with a second season being prepped for this coming October. The comic adaptation is set among a group of zombie survivors of an apocalypse who are led by a police officer, Rick Grimes, in search of a safe place to live.

  • Toy Fair: Mezco Unveils New Freddy, Jason and Leatherface

    While specs are soon to be revealed, a bunch of images popped up last night from the New York Toy Fair, which feature brand new figures from Mezco. Beyond the break you can check out a very creepy stylized Freddy Krueger, a variant bag head version of the new Jason Voorhees and an old-school Leatherface, with interchangeable mask.
