What an interesting edition of Horror In Your House. With Black Friday hitting this week, there are some movies you just don’t want to miss out on, with other that you should probably avoid at all costs. In the latter category, unless you’re a freak of nature, avoid Slaughtered Vomit Dolls, which features gore and puke (no thanks). And for those who have loved ones you want to give a really great gift to, pretty much ANY Lionsgate Blu-ray will do. This week you can pick up The Monster Squad, Cujo and My Bloody Valentine in hi-def, with the Valentine Blu-ray contained all of the deleted scenes implemented INTO the feature film (like the DVD) in HD (heaven). Last week Lionsgate released Near Dark with Ninth Gate also available.

BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE (Blu-ray)

At the Yokota Air Force base in Japan, a nervous American military is on the brink of the Vietnam War. But a greater threat exists within the walls of the heavily guarded compound: Vampires. A team of top-secret undercover agents dispatches a mysterious young woman to destroy them…she is the last remaining original.

CUJO (Blu-ray)

In rural Maine, Vic and Donna Trenton struggle to repair their crumbling marriage, while their young son Tad befriends a hulking, lovable, 200-pound St. Bernard named Cujo. AKA: La Maldicion De La Llorona. A visually lush, gothic story based loosely on the real legend of La Llorona, the Crying Spirit. Beautifully filmed and dripping with atmosphere, Baledon’s Curse of the Crying Woman is considered a true horror classic. A phantom figure attacks a horse-drawn carriage in the woods. As the police investigate the grisly murders, young Amelia (Rosa Arenas) travels to the old mansion of her Aunt Selma close to where the murders took place. Shortly after her arrival Amelia uncovers dark family secrets, including rumors of torture, murder and witchcraft! Each sinister revelation exposes a more diabolical mystery. Whose charred corpse lay buried in the family crypt? Why does Aunt Selma cast no reflection? And finally: What terrors will be unleashed by The Curse of the Crying Woman?

DEVIL GIRL

Fay is a small town girl on a cross country road trip, trying to escape her own reality after the death of her father. When her muscle car breaks down during a drag race she finds herself stranded along route 66 in an isolated desert town. Short on cash, she makes a series of choices to make enough money to repair her car. After encountering a neurotic, drug abusing clown she finds herself sliding down a dark spiral. Soon , her road trip starts to devolve into a living nightmare. Trapped and desperate, she fights to regain her identity while navigating through a host of locals: a creepy motel clerk, an overzealous preacher, and a sexy temptress with horns and a tail.

DEVILMAN

While on a scientific research expedition to discover a source of power buried deep beneath the earth’s crust, friends Ryo and Akira unwittingly unleash a pocket of demonic entities that immediately set forth to take over the world. The two of them are possessed themselves and are granted new demonic powers. Akira discovers he’s actually able to control his demonic possessor named Ammon. Unforunately Ryo has no chance but to succumb, having been possessed by Satan himself.

Led by a sinister minister, a controlling religious sect called the Brethren has taken control of widow Birdy Wemys , sending her unstable son, Kenny, into a spiraling descent into madness and murder. GODKILLER: WALK AMONG US #2

Based on the comic book by award-winning writer-director Matt Pizzolo and illustrator Anna Muckcracker, GODKILLER takes place in a dark-future after economic collapse, after nuclear holy war, and after Earth is colonized by alien races. Tommy and his kid sister Lucy live in an orphanage in one of the few remaining city-states, but Lucy is critically ill and desperately in need of a new heart. Tommy’s odyssey to find a new heart for his sister begins when he follows an organ-stealing prostitute named Halfpipe out of the city-state and into the savage borderland known as Outer City.

HUNCHBACK OF THE MORGUE

Gotho, a moronic hunchback employed in a hospital morgue, is deeply in love with Ilse, but it’s an ill-fated relationship. Ilsa is terminally ill with tuberculosis and dies shortly after. Out of his mind for the loss, Gotho steals her corpse, killing the medical students who are going to dissect it, and hides her in an underground crypt. Dr. Orla, a mad biologist, promises Gotho that he will revive Ilsa, but Gotho will have to provide him with dead – and live – bodies for his terrible experiments.

THE MONSTER SQUAD (Blu-ray) (TEX’S PICK OF THE WEEK)

Count Dracula adjourns to Earth, accompanied by Frankenstein’s Monster, the Wolfman, the Mummy, and the Gillman. The uglies are in search of a powerful amulet that will grant them power to rule the world. Our heroes – the Monster Squad are the only ones daring to stand in their way.

MY BLOODY VALENTINE (Blu-ray)

Twenty years after a Valentine’s Day tragedy, a small town prepares for its annual holiday dance. When a box of candy arrives containing an eerie warning and a blood-soaked heart, the townsfolk realize that this Valentine’s Day romance is as good as dead…and so are they!

REBORN

When a property in the Sonoran Desert, AZ, fell into default foreclosure and went up for public auction, an eager young newlywed couple jumped at the opportunity to purchase. Little did they know it used to be a torture ground owned by the serial killer “Motorman Dan” whose crimes became the most puzzling in U.S. history. Now, their honeymoon phase has come to a horrifying halt, as the Motorman rises for one more round of terror.

SLAUGHTERED VOMIT DOLLS

What happens to a woman when she is abused by her parents, becomes a runaway at the tender age of 14, is molested by a local priest who takes her in and is then used and abused by nearly everyone she comes into contact with? For Angela Aberdeen the answer is to turn away from the human race and all earthly reality by making a sacred pact with Satan. After enlisting his protection in return for her eternal soul, her first act is to burn down the priest s church as he lays passed out drunk on the floor. She then flees to the city where she develops a horrible addiction to alcohol and drugs. Angela quickly spirals downward in her journal to Hell. Stripping turns to pornography and prostitution and as her deadly addictions tear her body apart, she realizes that even Satan has seemingly forsaken her.

THIS HOLLOW SACRAMENT

Based on true events, the story revolves around the murder of four young women in Northern California in the late 1990s and the subsequent criminal investigation. The film follows the story of a tortured ex-soldier, now police detective, as he and his partner attempt to track down a bizarre series of disappearances, and the brutal slaying of the young women.

THE WITCHES’ HAMMER

Rebecca is brought back from the brink of death by top secret agency Project 571. She is trained as a lethal assassin and sent on missions to kill that which she has become, a vampire. When Project 571 is destroyed by a gang of vampires, Rebecca is thrown into a quest for an ancient book powerful enough to raise the dead. Rebecca joins two priests on a journey to kill the master vampire Hugo Renoir before he can unleash the grotesque souls of the damned into our dimension. If Hugo is allowed to perform the ancient ceremony the earth shall forever pass into the realm of darkness. Along the way Rebecca must utilize her training to face Vampires, Demons and Witches all vying for the book and its awesome power.
