Optimum Acquires UK Rights to Guillermo del Toro Produced ‘Julia’s Eyes’

While this news doesn’t do much for us here in the States, it does give us an idea of how powerful the EFM promo was for the Spanish thriller Julia’s Eyes, which was jointly produced by Guillermo del Toro and Barcelona’s Rodar and Rodar (both teams behind The Orphanage). Those in the UK, Optimum Releasing has scored theatrical rights to Guillem Morales (An Uncertain Guest) chiller after witnessing a three-minute promo and screenplay. An atmospheric psychological thriller, said Medina, Eyes unfolds in a Spanish hamlet. A young blind woman’s sudden death provokes a local blackout. Her sister (played by Orphanage lead Belen Rueda), an astronomist, investigates. But her sight is also failing. The feature is now in post-production. Check out the first ever images below.
