A few months ago we reported on EA’s desire to expand the Dead Space franchise by branching it off into other subgenres. This included the possibility of a FPS, flight sim, and third-person action game (similar to Uncharted) all set in the Dead Space universe. Now, a recent job listing posted on the EA site could be hinting at at least one of these ideas coming closer to fruition.
From the listing, “EA is looking for a lead multiplayer designer to help create a thrilling online action shooter game. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a bold new franchise which is a cornerstone for a new EA Games Studio.” So Visceral Games is looking for a multiplayer designer for an online action shooter game. Could this be the Dead Space FPS, and more importantly, is this something you’d be interested in? [EA job listing via OXM]
