TIFF ’10’s OMFG of the Day: Santa Claus is Real in ‘Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale’

Quickly eliminate Santa’s Slay from you mind, it’s sounding as if someone finally cracked the combo of “the real” Santa Claus and horror. Building a nearly out of control amount of buzz at the Toronto Film Festival is Jalmari Helander’s children’s horror tale from Finland, Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale, which tells of a not-so-magically Christmas discovery: buried 486 metres deep under the Korvatunturi mountains is the real mother ‘effin Santa Claus. A feral one. Maybe more? That’s all I’m going to tell you, but let’s just say he’s “naughty”. While I won’t be able to catch the flick, we’ve got Roxanne on the case who’ll return with her thoughts in the coming week. Until then, check out the poster, trailer and more!
