This weekend, IDW Publishing announced at Wondercon 2012 that they have brand new series of The Crow and Judge Dredd set for release this summer. The company has acquired the rights to both properties and will help to triumphantly return them to the comics world this year. Read on for the skinny…
The first Crow mini-series will be written by John Shirley, best known for penning the original draft of The Crow feature film. Kevin Colden, Eisner Award nominee, is signed to handle the artwork, while Ashley Wood, Kyle Hotz and original creator James O’Barr will be sharing cover duties. The first issue is scheduled for July and will see The Crow set in Japan. Creator James O’Barr is also working on a second Crow mini-series, which means he will be re-visiting his famed creation for the first time in years.
IDW will also publish an upcoming new Judge Dredd series, but at current time no other information is available.
