Those left dissatisfied by the 2024 remake of The Crow may find solace in Days of Sodom: A Crow Fan Film.
The 160-minute (!) supernatural revenge noir is streaming for free below via Wet Paint Pictures.
It’s directed by Cody Faulk, who previously helmed the Friday the 13th fan film Voorhees. Faulk also stars as the new Crow, Thorn Gray, and co-wrote the script with Jason M. Farrell.
Guided by a mysterious crow, police detective returns from the grave to seek vengeance on the officers who murdered his wife. But the murderers may be more than he bargained for as he finds that he’s fighting for much more than revenge.
Vernon Wells (Max Max 2) co-stars as the villainous Mayor Minos. The cast also includes Robert Mukes (House of 1000 Corpses) and former WWE wrestlers Mickie James and Maven Huffman.
Natalie Polisson, Brian Lyons-Burke, Paula Black, Nicole Yang, Clay Raven, Robert Franzese, and Nas Khan round out the cast.
“We began writing this script back in January 2021 and it took us more than two years to complete,” said Faulk. “It took so long because we wanted a great story with intrigue, emotional depth, violence, despair and reflection.”
He continued, “We wanted a tortured hero with a tragic and complex backstory. We wanted him to be real, vulnerable and believable. And we wanted truly horrifying villains, not just the usual thugs, gangsters or mobsters that usually populate action movies. As horror fans, we also wanted to push the limits of film the way great horror movies do, but maintain a real emotional core and character depth that horror often lacks.”
Faulk added, “This film is simply a passion project to the core. Made by the fans, for the fans. We hope to bring something new to a franchise, and character, that means so much to so many people.”
